lots of negative statements have been written about indian players. much much worse than this article. but some people are becoming sensitive for this article. it seem they like to eat white stool very much.
Both Ponting and Smith retired making personal decisions KEEPING THE COUNTRY IN MIND unlike the "great" Sachin Tendulkar, whose use by date had long expired - scratching around for runs just to achieve the figure of 200. Ultimately had to be told by the board in a round about way that it was either its way or the highway for Tendlia. That is the difference between playing for country & playing for records.

what a trash article from Bikashji. these cricketers are not cunning politicians who could time their retirement decisions. Also remember he was short of runs for sometime and he is not a sub continental cricket great who needs a boot to realsie his time has come.

I fully agree. This is perhaps one of worst article on cricketers I came across in past 50 years. The author also must learn something about cricket. It is not an arena for poll campaign neither the cricketers of such exceptional calibre are shrewd politician. I never expected that Rediff can post such a trash.
