THE BEST EVER
by madanmohan siddhanthi on Mar 05, 2014 04:10 PM

The team had some good players barring one or two icons .The difference is the passion the team had remember there was no tons of money and if not mistaken they made more than ever after the match winning performance .Conditions were alien - the opponents would beat India at least 9 out of ten matches -still India won .Consider the situation in 2011 our conditions opponents at best a good team we won - this is no where near 1983 win . @016 we will not even reach semi finals - we have neither fast bowlers nor great spinners

Fast bowlers in India.
by ASHKO KUMAR DHANUKA on Mar 05, 2014 11:12 AM  | Hide replies

After 1983 world cup victory dedicated Indian players kept on marching upwards and have re-written the history of Indian cricket, however it is a shame on us,a country with 120 crore population, having sufficient talent cannot find two genuine fast bowlers who can hit the deck @150 kmph speed...BCCI managers are solely responsible for this who are only busy in making money making & fixing ,least bothered about the development of the game, involvemnt of our key players with these board members (in dirty game) also cannot be ruled out.It is high time govt of India take remedial action, after all BCCI is not an inherited property of these board members who have virtually been owning the board for years & years and not willing to give it up.Time have come,BCCI must be freed from all the politicians/bureaucrats/corporates and must be managed by prominent ex-players/professionals on PAID basis & CAG audit to be made mandatory.

IPL is now a major tournament than World cup
by vasanth m on Mar 05, 2014 11:05 AM

For BCCI, IPL is a major tournament than World cup. BCCI wont care for World cup at all. BCCI will make pitches that suit for IPL than World cup.

Need something more than pace
by Sudarshan Nityananda on Mar 05, 2014 10:12 AM

It is not just blindly bowling at 150 kph that is needed. Look at Varun Aaron, he's fast but so wayward that he can be put away for 8 runs every over. We need Bhuvi to find his swing again and Shami to bowl spot on without being wayward. Our coaches must also get Umesh Yadav to pitch consistently in the right areas.

All our bowlers can take a lesson from The Afghanistan pace attack

Indian bowlers are Cannon fodder
by RSS on Mar 05, 2014 01:48 AM

Our Historical weakness is Bowling - Particularly Fast & Swing bowling, which neither our Batsmen know how to play or leave, and the Bowlers are usually clueless on how to bowl to other team batsmen even where there is help from the pitch & conditions for fast bowling.

Spinners are effective only on Indian wickets, even if they bowl well on Sri Lanka, Pakistan or Bangladesh we hardly manage to win a few series.

MRF Pace academy is worthless, they could never produce a Fast bowler like Glen Mc Grath, Allan Donald, Wasim, Waqar, Shoaib till date.

And the listless story continues till today ........

We are already a depleted Bowling side and if at all we need to develop a nice team for the WC2019 we need our indigenous coaches to take charge .

Varun Aaron and Umesh Yadav
by Sameer Shaikh on Mar 04, 2014 10:43 PM  | Hide replies

Varun Aaron touched 150 regular in New Zealand. Very rare is the sight. He should be supported by politician dhoni because once in 20 years we get genuine fast bowler

He starts limping after 5 overs. We need very fit and strong folks. All kinds of urbanites likes Sharmas, Bannerjees, Sivaramakrishnans, balaji's are ruled out. How can you find them in crowded urban areas. They have to come from India's rural areas.
