Harbhajan as well as Umesh Yadav should have been there. I don't think the bowlers who are in the squad can do anything in England. Dhoni has to stop to pick up his IPL team mates and start selecting good players, that does not mean Ashwin and Jadeja are not good, considering their current form. This was the right time to pick Umesh Yadav. Let us see what Dhoni is doing with his PETS there
Overseas pitches will assist only wrist spinners, Looking at the skill R Jadeja/R Ashwin seriously lack ability as they are mostly finger spinners who depend on pitch to assist them. Checkout the history G Swan/Murali/S warne/S Ajmal etc done well in these conditions
it is nothing new in the history of indian cricket exception is the era 2000-2005 under ganguly jahir, srinath,nehra at his pick,pathan.kumble,harbhajan world conquering attack followed by ganguli breathing at their neck after every alternate ball.

Hmm. It was because Ganguly was a brave captain without any regional bias. He is the greatest Test captain Indian has ever seen. All of Dhonis success came becoz of the team built by Dada. e.g. 2007 T20 WC-Yuvraj (Came under dada)

@chalu maal...absolutely spot on......DADA is the only captain without regional bias (He picks only on merit of player)atlest in the ERA I have seen from late 80ies till date........
Cricket is only game in the world which lasts for 5 days esp. Test Cricket. This is the main reason why it is not a popular sport in the world. It is popular only in India and in countries ruled by Britishers. Purists may say test matches are real thing and it tests a sports persons stamina, endurance, patience etc. Maybe true but in today's busy lifestyle who has a time to watch the match on all five days. Many countries in the world not even consider it as a sport. It is not even included in Olympics. Compare sportsperson of other sports who are athletes to cricketers esp. indian cricketers who are always out of shape. I have seen some Sri Lankan cricketers and even Indian cricketers sporting a belly.Have u seen a tennis player, football player, athlete, squash, badminton player, hockey player with a belly. This sports demand a lot of physical energy, power and stamina. I feel Indians are made only for cricket this statement is wrong. There maybe other sportsmen who are doing well in their field but government and corporates are not doing enough to promote those sports. Its high time India focus on other sports and believe me India has potential to perform in other sports if given proper nutrition and training. Other sportsmen in the world appear strong because they increase their protein intake while our sportsmen only eat dal, rice, vada pav etc. Look at Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and compare him with Dale Steyn or bowlers from Australia who are given good nutrition.

eight bowlers,so add one wicket keeper and then the balance two can be all rounders so that they can bowl if the above eight bowlers can not do it,he he he he.
The Ranji trophy champions Karnataka were the best bowling combination. VinayKumar, Mithun , Sharath and Shreyas Gopal were a deadly combination for any opposition. Vinay spearheaded the bowling attack with lot of succes . They repeatedly took 20 wickets in every match.
The above is the right combination for Indian team to visit England, Kumble should coach the bowling department of the Indian side.

Dude Vinay was smacked all parks of the ground even by Bangladeshi batsman. Mithun is a spinner..
India has won a whooping 5% test in all these years. Why are we wasting our time on this nonsence sport of 5 days test???? Can anybody tell us. The truth is Cinema & Cricket had become advertisers games to sell their product and nothing else. Ban 5 days test so that Indians will look at other sports without excuses
It is unfair on Vengsarkar's part to make such comments and demoralise this young set of bowlers. It is difficult to understand how an ex-Chairman of the Selection Committee can make such comments? Is it showing his frustration that he cannot become the West Zone representative in the Selection Committee?
Umesh Yadav, Pandey, Bhuvi, Varoon Arron & Jadeja seems to be a good good bowlers to get England our twice. Please drop ashwin he is laibility in overseas
