Joke of the century is your statement. How can you say Gambhir is best captain? Please rewind videos of IPL and see his reactions when his team mates drop a catch or misfield. See his anger and how he abuses umpire when given out. He is lucky that he got some talented youngsters especially from Karnataka whom Virat & Mallya dumped in auction. Gambhir should learn captaincy from G Bailey who is definitely a players captain and a superlative batsman & fielder.
Sorry Mr.Akram eventhough Gambhir has lifted the trophy, but kindly note that still Dhoni was the best captain(Of course due to his some politics he lost the cup). Gambhir was very short tempered it is beacuase of players like, Uthappa,Naraine,Shgakeel,Yadav,Pandey he won the cup !!

when DHONI credited for INDIA's WCUPS T20/ODI WINS - Due to sheer brilience of Yuvraj- why not credit GAMBHIR for 2 IPL Trophies with this GAMBHIR Equals record of DHONI in IPL
2 World CUPS - ODI/T20 Dhoni's contribution was NILL excpet in ODI FINAL when he used his captaincy to come ahead of YUVRAJ who was in RED HOT FORM
Gambhir has major contribution as BATSMAN in first IPL sucess and moderate contribution in 2nd as well
wasim is wrong here it was actually dhoni who is the best captain. dhoni actually gave long ropes to both sehwag and gambhir when they were out of form. but both of them misused it and brought a bad name to dhoni. wasim akram is actually encashing this situation.

Sehwag/Gambhir are your premire players who contributed to rise of INDIAN cricket (BEST OPENING pair in HISTORY OF INDIAN CRICKET) you can not drop them just like that...........when whole world is watching......why did OPENERS ROTATION POLICY came into picture? this is strategy..........
When players like useless rohit and average players ABROAD(Jadeja/Ashwin) are persisted why can not matchwinners be persisted
What a justice done ..Gambhir came winiing 1, Sehwag runner up 2 and the man behind destroying these two player's career .. Dhoni came 3. Even though CSK was best player as no one is weaker like other teams have ..still Sehwagh beat Dhoni single handedly by taking major responsibilty to score runs. (fight from front) ..not like opprtunistic dhoni who always promoted imself on choosy winning scenario only which finally proved costly in playoff.

Alex, I whole-heartedly agree with you ! It was payback time, and how !!! It was heartening to see India's best opener smash the CSK bowling to bits and pieces. I'm sure the knock was a polite response to the indifference shown in the past. But the silver lining is that the loser can always 'cement' his place in India Cements, in the company of his chosen cronies, and set new benchmarks in corporate crassness :-) :-) :-)
Despite loosing the final, Bailey seems to be the best Captain of IPL 7. He was cool and composed always and still smiling at the end . The Kings XI lost by a whisker. On overall performance of the entire IPL 7 , they should be the winners. When IPL is following on the practices of EPL and other football leagues, the Winner should be the one who tops the League. This knock out system of top 4 should be scrapped from next year and the winner should be who tops the league.
Its hight time Dhoni needs to be relieved from at least Test Captaincy, you can see the difference in his captaincy...
While every other team is grooming youngsters, motivating and getting best out of them Dhoni is only using tried and tested players like R Jadeja/R Ashwin - who are not game changers
No one can justify Dhoni coming down the order when target is 200 and with Raina setting up good platform
