NO NEED TO REPLACE ANYONE
by Shilpa Mehta on Aug 01, 2014 12:47 PM  | Hide replies

ENG wins only in their own backyard ( Like India )
.
There's nothing so great in ENG team .
Same team loses with even bigger margins when they play in India .

And , no need to replace anyone , same team has won Lords Test, but yes Ishant was there . Now since he's injured all rounder Ashwin can replace him .
Absoutely no need to replace MSD .
MSD has at least scored once 82 & once 52 in last four innings .
He's well ahead in scores than Dhawan , Kohli , Pujara - - -

DID ANYONE HERE RAISED THIS ISSUE OF REPLACEMENT WHEN INDIA WON LAST TEST ?? NO
Just because we lost now everyone is saying
replace Tom , replace Harry , replace James - -

Team India will surely win series with same Team .

Dhoni Says team lacks "Teeth to Fight". Now why is that? Who's job is it to inspire the team and make it fight to the teeth? these are questions which Dhoni will never "have the teeth" to answer...

Eng won a test series in India last time they visited.

Eng won a test series in Australia a few years back 3-1.... India has never won in Australia - ever.

This England team may not be great but England has performed better outside England than India has outside India.

Unfit Test team
by Praveen Shetty H on Aug 01, 2014 09:41 AM

Dhoni should be Dropped from Test team itself, he is only good for ODI & T20 but he is unfit for test & he along with Jadeja, Dhawan, Shami should be dropped for next 2 tests.

When fast bowlwer are taking wickets what this shami doing, useless bowler

he he he he,with England having at least four good left hand batsmen,Ashwin should be played in place of Binny. That way,Bhuvi,Ishant and Shami will get some well deserved rest after bowling 5 or 6 overs.

Even before the start of second test, I had suggested Ashwin in place of Rohit. DhoniBhai is only reacting than being proactive. The way lower order is batting, there's no need for India to have a specialist sixth batsman.

Who's fault?
by Ashish Sharma on Jul 31, 2014 11:13 PM  | Hide replies

With 7 batsmen in the team, nearly four of them are technically unfit to be in a test match side, including dhawan, jadeja and dhoni himself apart from a couple of others who are dhoni's favorite. Even in bowling dhoni wants to bet on his favorite bowlers. If we leave aside the previous match that India won, one can't remember the last time when Ishant performed in a match to win it. Remove Dhoni, select team from a longer version of the game instead of T20.

Dhoni - A batsman? I appreciate your sense of humour. I thought he was included in the side as 'captain' only to give excuses, whenever Indian team looses.

This current England side is one of the weakest in last 10 years. They only rely on Stuart Board, Anderson. Earlier there was Flintoff, harminson and pacers even sri lank who never won in england in last 30 years won test series. But this bhaiya bihari and his petfather srinivasan are addicted to CSK players. Varun Aaron, Umesh yadav, zaheer should have been in team instead of that binny and pankaj singh

Ian Chappel was right on target. Remove Dhoni from test. He is perfectly unfit for test in foreign pitches. In one day and T 20 he is ok because of his defensive captaincy. Weak means yes, like you have genuine fast bowler Varun Aaron sitting in dressing room and this bhaiyaa bihari is taking binny to attack opposition. Ok Varun aaron is wayward but when you have genuine fast bowler who can bowl 150 you have to groom him bevause such is rare in india because indian always produced low quality fast bowlers but who is dhoni.

He showed he has a class of that ticket collector at Patna station

One thing I will admit - pace cannot be taught. If as you say Aaron is pretty fast (btw we have to see in test matches... bowlers tend to tighten up and bowl slow there), he should certainly be given a try. If he is off length pull him off but he can provide that critical breakthrough because of the extra pace. Just something different than trundling medium pace.

I agree Umesh Yadav would have been useful in these conditions.

Dhoni is good in ODI and masala T-20. For real TEST Cricket India must have new thinking man (VIrat) who should not bias with his selection (like dhoni who always think test team as CSK).Performance should be only n only criteria.SA now england ..we are missing badly a quality spinner. Bhajji is far better (though not as best as Kumble) in available lot today India has. But dhoni ego hurting team india.I think bhajji need to join Riddhhi consultnt (of dhoni) like Aswin/jadeja/rohit joined :) thats faster way to enter team india.

The pace bowling with the "tall" Ishanth gone is too vanilla. Kumar, Pankaj and Shami are too similar.

BTW being similar at around 80mph is different from being similar at 85 - 88 mph. With all due respect to Kumar, he almost never touches 80 mph.

I think Aaron should get a chance now.

Dhoti is Srinivasan's servant
by Adi Mehta on Jul 31, 2014 10:57 PM  | Hide replies

Dhoti has never performed even on flat tracks abroad, leave alone seaming or spinning tracks. He only shows off in India where he bullys the groundsman and has all the backing of Srinvasan. Both of them basically keep bribing teams like West Indies to come to India and lose. That way they improve test ranking, sell TV rights for absurd sums and split the money. Earlier Dhoni was a dedicated cricketer. Today he is just a servant of Srinivasan who gets paid millions to do his masters bidding.

Very true. Now all IPL masala cricket killed REAL TEST cricket and players too. Funny to see India playing on flat track without spinner and no old great cricketers keeping mum on Dhoni just to avoid Srini-dhoni ego. Also, Dhoni ego and favorism biasness killing TEAM INDIA badly. No Bhajji , No Gambhir even situation demands shows captians baisness. Dhawan getting more n more chances even if he lack technique to face swing ball (remember he opens so he has to face swing new ball).

Dhoni needs to rally the troops. The trouble is the Indian pace attack lacks "pace". Eventually the slower pace bowlers get figured out.

As far as spin goes, Jadeja is defensive and none of the current batch of spinners has excelled outside India.

The batsmen.... they are what they are. Nothing Dhoni can do about it, just live with it.

when varun aaron is there who can bowl 150 km he takes binnny and pankaj who are military medium pacers. before also he use to like that praveen kumar, vinay kumar those who are bunnies. he do not like pacers some sort of jealousy or some sort i cant figure for this poor captain. his record abroad is so poor now england is weak team still this joker bhaiyaa rallying around his friends like rohit jaderja and that lover boy virat whose juice is gone by anushka

Relax man - you may be too young to know this, but India has had something against pace for a while.

In 1976 when I was a little boy we had in India a Pandurang Salgaonkar who injured Sunny Gavaskars hand bowling fast at him. There was also Ghavri. Both not taken in team to the Windies.

Lloyd unleashed Holding and Daniel on India at Kingston and at 97/5 or so, India declared. Batsmen were too injured or scared to come out to bat. We should have paid back in kind. I remember weeping while watching then.

Pak toured Windies after us - West Indies never tried that stunt with Pak. You know why? Imran and Sarfraz were in Pak team.

I still remember the test. After putting into bat against a battery of Holding & Co., India were 178 for one at the end of the first day (this was six day test match). Lloyd started unfair practices of body-line bowling only on the second day injuring Gaikwad, Vishwanath and Brijesh Patel in the process. Bedi had to declare the 1st inning at 306-5 to avoid injury to bowlers. I do not recollect any other such incident in last 40 years.

if you don't give any overs to bowl, how can 5th bowler pick wickets? you should show some confidence on the new players. I don't what you like in Rohit Sharma.. the number of chances he got, even street cricketer would improve, Rohit wouldn't. what is the point of having Gambir in the team.

Gambhir is a threat to Dhoni as a potential captaincy material, like Dravid, Kumble, Sehwag, Ganguly.......

Dhoni eliminates such players.
