I like it :) India really needs the 3rd innings to make a draw. And Dhawan needs 5 innings to score 100 runs in TOTAl :)

Its a tough call. If we had lost only 2 wkts on the 4th Day, a draw was possible, but now our batters are getting out to part time bowlers.

GAME PLAN
by Shilpa Mehta on Jul 31, 2014 11:22 AM  | Hide replies

Its very difficult to stand on the wicket for whole day in fourth innings .
Remaining batsman Rahane , Rohit Sharma , MSD , Jadeja all are 20 - 20 specialists . They cannot stand on the crease entire day .
All should play like ODI & try to score remaining 333 in 90 overs today & go for a win .
When more than 600 runs can be scored in 100 overs in ODI , why not today ??
As such , defeat is on cards if we play like test match & try to save the game .
WHY TRY TO SAVE ?? WE SHOULD GO FOR A KILL .

India can Save The Test match
by RSS on Jul 31, 2014 11:19 AM

Only if it Rains on Day 5, if it does not Rain, Just forget it as our Batsmen neither have the Patience nor the Skill or Technique to last 90 overs against any England attack on their home soil.

India did not even dominate a Single session in this test and deserve to lose this game as our bowlers were hapless on Day 1 & 2.

Looking forward to the margin of defeat.

Extremely Difficult
by Ashok Kumar on Jul 31, 2014 11:03 AM

Surviving 90 overs on that weary pitch is going to be next to impossible, particularly with the kind of application our batsman have shown so far. They had made things difficult for themselves by being either too careless or too defensive against Ali. They shouldn't have done the mistake of reaching out to him. If our other batsman show some patience, we might last 2 sessions on the last day. But saving the test looks improbable as of now. Let us see if Rohit and Rahane could show some doggedness when they come out to bat again.

Look who has taken Indian wickets in the second innings , Moen Ali 2 , Joe Root 1 and top of all 1 run out , its shameful to see Indian batsman losing wickets to part time bowlers - why not call SACHIN , DARVID , LAXMAN etc.. its disgusting

BCCI is solely responsible to bring Indian cricket to so low.It can also be doubted on random victories by Indian team being fixed by BCCI by enormous money-power--(1)why cant BCCI start International carrier of players thru test cricket where a player can fine tune his talent & temprament..most of our current players have rather started International carriers thru T20 or T50,which in my opinion is not correct...further..giving too much of money to players is also poisonous.Instead more money must be spent on unearthing and developing new talent...fast and bounch tracks must be built in our country and all players must undergo training under toughest condition.Lastly, time has come, prominent ex-players take reins of BCCI and ensure that Indian cricket does not meet unfortunate death,,,

ashok...this is one of the most silly posts i have read...bcci is responsible for making india strong in the world of cricket since the last 14 years...they started with appointing foreign coaches....the move paid rich dividends and the last 14 years have been the brightest years for indian cricket...it is not for nothing that india got no 1 ranking in all formats of the game...because of the good steps taken by bcci...they have done a lot for indian cricket...just because you dont know it does not mean that is not true...bcci has done a lot in unearthing talents from all parts of the country however small the region...thats why so many players from smaller cities have come up...dhoni is the prime example...there are also many others ...bcci has done a world of good to retired players by giving them pensions and other benefit matches...bcci has done a lot but blind people like you will not see it...

in previous century all the strong countries would trample over us and we have to keep quite bearing the indignities and injustices...it is only in the last 14 years that things have changed...without bcci support bhajji would have got test ban...it was bcci which prevented it with its power threatening to end the series...and justice was done...similarly now jadeja is going through it...bcci is again doing its best to stop the injustice...but people like you will never appreciate that...

players have not come up the ranks through t20 and t50...it is their strong showing in ranji and other domestic matches that has helped them to come in test side...

and stop wanting more players in bcci administration...players and players let them play and administrators are administrators ...let them do their job...dont confuse between the two things...

and anyway our ex-greats like gavaskar kapil shastri sidhu sachin dravid laxman kumble etc... and others have not done anything to give them the reins of bcci..they are just and plain interested in making money not furthering indian cricket...

the reason sachin dravid laxman are not called back because is that they handed us 8 consecutive away test defeats ....bcci is sick of those whitewashes

instead now they would like to whitewash other sides like we did to australia without sachin dravid laxman...
