TOSS GOES FOR A SIX ?
by damodaran mohan on Jul 18, 2014 01:55 PM

The process of TOSS followed during cricket matches these days is not satisfactory and leaves lot to be desired. Take the TOSS at LORD yesterday when Dhoni called HEAD and Cook tossed the coin up in the air. The coin fell little away in a corner away from where both the captains were standing so much so the umpire had to walk a step ,turn his back towards the two captains ,pick up the coin, turn forward ,come closer and announce TAIL. Dhoni had lost the vital TOSS . Is this the right way to do TOSS ? This is not to disbelieve the umpire or doubt his integrity but should not the coin be tossed to fall close to the two captains so that they could also see which way the coin falls ? Will ICC look into the future TOSSES and ensure this aspect please ?

Dilip vengsarkar was a good batsman...he hit 3 century at lords...his away batting average also very good....around 33 runs per innings....just like dhoni's average...

Ajinkya Rahane.

Congratulations to Ajinkya for well deserved ton.
He deserved a permanent place in the test squad 3-4 years back only when he was minting runs in domestic cricket. Dhoni kept playing useless players like Raina, Yuvraj, Jadeja etc. who are not fit for test cricket.
Ajinkya Rahane should come batting at No.4 which he thoroughly deserves. Only this technically well-equipped batsman deserves that place after retirement of SRT. Great to see this beautifuly crafted hundred which can be done by Mumbai batsman only. Rahane had scored a ton against NZ earliesr this year to save a test match for India which avoided 2-0 whitewash for India.
These Dhawan, Vijay, Pujara, Kohli, Jadeja & Dhoni are flat track bullies who can score on dead flat tracks only. Losers!!

Not just another century, it's worth more then a hundred, given the lush green pitch given (pitch seemed to be wimbledon court). Way to go Rahane!

You are guaranteedly a TEST MATERIAL like your IDOL Rahul Dravid and should serve the Country for long. I am really happy that you have continued the legacy of Colonep - Dilip Vengasarkar of mastering LORDS Wicket. Keep it up , young man and would like to enjoy many more such Classy tons from your Blade. All the very best. Well Done.Tell to that Aussie - Shane Warne that you are not a JINX but a GOOD OMEN to any Team.

why is rahane not getting promoted
by Manoj poojary on Jul 18, 2014 08:18 AM

when you see vijay, pujara, kholi, dhawan are all lacking the technical skills to cope with the english seaming conditions then why dont you send your inform player at 3 so that atleast he can control the innings and can get a backing from the other players.Dhoni shud have done this changes in this game itself there is no meaning in not changing when things are down u need to comeup with innovative ideas u just cannot keep saying that i m giving confidence and chances to my players.Dhoni cannot run the indian cricket on his wishes.Ravindra jadeja and binny are just substandard players they dont possess the right test match technique.i dont think Indian test team will the great one. This is the draw back when you have great leader at the desk you also need to agree with his wrong decisions at times.
