Drop Rahane and include Ashwin
by Ganesh V on Jul 15, 2014 08:36 AM  | Hide replies

If we really aim to win then it is the bowlers who can win you matches. Instead of dropping Binny to include Ashwin, Dhoni should think of sacrificing Rahane. We should play with 6 bowlers with Binny, Jadeja and Ashwin being all rounders.

hahahaha...look who is talking ?? as if he has scored in tons with pitches having life...not a single century , only 10 fifties in 10 years on pitches of England, Australia , Africa and New zealand...Even when swann and Panesar were bolwing high class spin bowling in 2012 India tour,he struggled....There's no life in his test career outside India and wants pitches with life...

You are absolutely correct in your assessment. Dhoni is a non-performer on overseas tours, and he wants England to prepare lively wickets. His batsman will not score anything on such wickets, but his bowlers will gift away runs because they are not very good at Test level.

dhoni's away performance is as good as/not worse than some of our specialist batsmen who were supposedly among the great batsman produced by india...for example compare vengsarkar and vishwanaths away performances with dhoni...you can also compare it with our own legend kapil dev and many others by the way...his stats read better than many specialist batsmen of all countries...compare his performance as a batsman with some captains who are considered as among greats like hansie cronje...

you harp so much on away performance as compared with home performance...do you know the so called greats like amarnath though they have great away averages like 50 they are so bad that they average only 30 at home...if they play so badly even at home why should they be called among great batsmen at all...take michael clarke are you away the gap between his home and away test averages? he averages 60 runs in home conditions and 40 runs in away test matches...

take gavaskar ...he average close to 70 runs against the best attack in the world of those times the wI....then how come his overall average is not close to 70 runs but only 50 runs...why so bad performance against worse attacks of other countries??

nobody has a good record against all countries or against all bowlers or in all types of conditions...but that does not stop them from being called great...similary dhoni is also among the list of greats ...as a captain, as a batsman and as a wicket keeper...as a wicket keeper incidentally he has taken more than 600 international wickets (tests odis and T20s) and only 4 wicket keepers in the world have taken more victims behind the stumps than him...a record which he will surely better before he retires...though he may not touch the 999 wickets behind the stumps like boucher...i am sure he will come pretty close to that figure...

What an assesment! Guess this is BCCI Srini posting for MSD

Guess ur luv for dhonie made u abandoned ur basic common sense - Obviously having a better record in Challenging tough hostile conditions makes Amarnath a "Great" although his home record is not great.

Has MSD made fans lose all their brains???

What a foolish statement against MSD .

You don't need to score century OR double century on fast & swinging tracks .

Even a 50 is enough if it causes to win a game for the country .

100 or 200 is of no use on flat tracks .

MSD is great cricketer . Let it be any track OR any format ie Tests , ODI , 20-20 .

Shilpa Mehta...i guess you want to say MSD is your all time favourite cricketer for which I dont have any objection...but your statements to justify him are more than foolish...u dont need to score a 100 on difficult track shows u dont know much about cricket...u r correct in saying a 50 is enough to win a game ..then show me his one such inning in all those abroad defeats where he saved saved a match...if 100 or 200 on flattracks are useless then all his 5 hundreds are on flattracks which should be considered as useless....so stop worshipping him and more importantly defending his limited abilities as a batsman...
