I don't disagree with you Dhoni has had quite a bit of accomplishments. He has won world cups, IPL etc. But lets focus on the current series.
This current series and the last one clearly required a good positive leader. Look at Dhoni's body's language. He doesn't look like a captain on the ground. When things don't go well, he withdraws himself out of the team. It feels he is just hanging around rather than going to individuals, talking to them and encouraging. He can't expect people are going to walk in to the part and do their jobs. If every bowler, every fielder and every batsman did what they were supposed to do, we don't need Dhoni, make a junior player as a captain. A captain, leader has to be ready for all challenges. Sports is not a science. You can't figure everything out off the field and come and expect the plan will be executed 100% on the field. There is going to be ups and downs, when there is a down thats when Captains imagination, creativity etc comes into play. Our man Dhoni seems to have forgotten and he is relying on computer to do his job!!!
Check him out soon!!! Hate when non-performers like him walk away as legends in the game
should explaine why raina is kept out of the team? raidu insted of raina it is the worst disision taken by dhoni.. please select one more spinner in the team and kick out useless north indian fast bowlers from the team...
Comeon guys this person has won us two world cups and deserves to be treated better.. what he should do if he is given a team like this ... there is no fast bowler whom he can trust to give initial breakthroughs ... if he is given losers like ktka binny who cant even bat or bowl properly then what he should do... the solution is bring the tall lanky pacer L Balaji back.. so that he can take 2-3 wickets in the begining and R Ashwin can attack the rest of batsman instead of just bowling a defensise line in order to contain the batsman to make up for the expensive nortie bowlers

For ur kind information, Binny has bowled just one over in the last match and didnt get a chance to bat. What about Aswin? He has already proved that he cant take wickets. In the last 4 matches, he took just 1 wicket. So, He should be dropped first.

one over is enough to judge a bowlers ability.. he leaked 8 runs .. deserved to be kicked out

dhoni will bring back both T20 and ODI world cups... all he need to do is get murali vijay to open the innings .. murali with his dashing attitude and sound technique will win matches single handedly through his swashbuckling batting
Dhoni is a tiger in Sub continent wickets. He is a dependable batsman. I do agree. But not a good captain. He is simply protecting his CSK friends along with Ishanth Sharma and Rohit Sharma. Aswin is a bowler, but not taking wickets. He had helped india to make the third match a tie with his bat. But we have a lot of batsmen to do the work. If he is not bowling well, he should be out of team. Yuvraj is a better batsman than Raina and better bowler than Aswin. But he is out of the team. This is politics only. Raina had only one 50 plus score (against Zimbabwe) in the last 30 matches. But still in the team. I am sure that he will be back in the team soon. Same will be the case of Ishanth Sharma. Kohli is now Indias best No 3 batsman and Dhoni spoiled him in the last match by putting him in the opening slot. Dhawan should have been picked in the last match as the pitch was suitable for him. Can anybody point out Dhonis good captaincy in foreign wickets in the recent past? In England, Australia, South Africa and now in New Zealand, every where we failed. Shame on you Dhoni... Bring back Yuvraj, Gambhir and Sehwag, the most dangerous batsman if in form. Sehwag has not got that much opportunities what Rohit Sharma has got. To be selected in the team, there is only one thing. Become obedient to Dhoni... Thatz what we feel now...

ABSOLUTELY!WHEN SO CALLED YOUNG PLAYERS DON'T SCORE RUNS AS PURE BATSMEN FOR LAST 10 MATCHES BUT STILL THEY ARE CONTINUING BECOS OF CRIMINAL MIND OF DHONI,SRINI,PATIL & FLETCHER.JUST SEE THE OPENING PAIR,THEY CANT GIVE BRISK START LIKE SEHWAG & GAMBIR COMBINATION IN FIRST 10 OVERS.THIS IS THE REASON FOR PATHETIC PERFORMANCE OF INDIA IN FOREIGN SOIL.SEHWAG & GAMBIR IS STILL FAR BETTER PLAYER THAN ROHITH,DHAWAN,RAINA,RAHANE.YUVRAJ IS BETTER ALLROUNDER THAN JADEJA/ASHWIN.KARTHIK IS BETTER KEEPER THAN DHONI.SACK DHONI & MAKE GAMBIR AS CAPTAIN FOR THE BETTERMENT OF INDIAN CRICKET.ARISE MR.SANDEEP PATIL SHAME ON YOU .U R SELECTING TEAM UNDER INFLUENCE OF SRINI & DHONI TWO LOBBY MAKERS IN INDIAN CRICKET WHO ARE PLAYING DIRTY TRICKS WITH SOME OF THE LEGENDS OF THE GAME

Don't understand why people think Dhoni is a great leader. He is a good strategist, but he is not a leader. Simple thing, think about any other captain who can talk like Dhoni and wash dirty laundry in public? No good captain or leader tries to pin point players and criticize them openly except Dhoni. Cornering few individuals is a very bad quality for a leader. If anything he should take responsibility equally and work together as a team. If bowlers were bowling short, why didn't tell them to bowl right? He could have stopped the problem before hand. Looks like Dhoni's "use-by" date is gone as a captain. He is still a very good player, but he should let someone else with leadership qualities lead the team.

dhoni is politician, he slamed others when his pets like rohits scored (allthough after so many dropped chances) n jadeja scored n bowled well. so he can lambast others. he vl not gv bowling to binny even after seelcting him in the xi.

I dint understand why Binny was played yesterday to give bowling for just 1 over :).. Certainly it was not meant as a formality to give him a 'chance'....!

I agree with you, Bhajji, Zaheer, Gautam & Sehwag will make a huge difference. Ashwin is a waste of time.

ashwin has performed well today in this fast bowler pitch... it was fasters who were main culprit... india badly needs a quality fast bowler of L Balaji calibre
Re: Ashwin has been exposed to the core...
by madan menon on Jan 29, 2014 11:00 AM
ashwin was more economical than others...he did not bowl wayward.. tell me which bowler bowled excellent...? remember it was a fastbowlers pitch

Can you point out Aswin's exceptional performance in the recent past? He is a 3rd grade player and does not deserve a chance in the team. If anyone else Dhoni will be the Indian Captain, Aswin would have been kicked out. He may batted well in the 3rd ODI. But his primary duty is to take wickets.. Has he taken any wickets? I think Kumble (at this age) will be better than him...
Re: Ashwin has been exposed to the core...
by Straight Drive on Jan 29, 2014 11:05 AM
Ashwin has taken wickets only in India that too against weak teams. He is no match to Bhajjio who is the 10th highest wicket taking bowler in the world. Bring him back.
