Gary is among the better coaches in the world and to that extent DD management approach is in the right direction. But I do not agree with Gary's observation about DD 'finishing last' in IPL-6 affecting in any way this time around as that team is totally dismantled and so the IPL-7 DD side is not expected to carry any past baggage of poor performances. It will be completely a new side and guaranty of performance will lie in how good the new side is. That is why it is essential that Gary-DD&co attempt to buy the best possible side that could beat CSK,MI ,RCB etc.who do enjoy a in-built advantage for whatever reasons. The improvement in 3 yrs can only be incremental at best due to competent coaching but it is the intrinsic strength of the side chosen in the first yr that is going to decide how DD is going to fare in the next 3 yrs. Should DD start as a inferior side right from 1st yr then the battle is lost as far as winning the IPL trophy is concerned even for the subsequent yrs. Delhiites would definitely like to see the new DD side as among the best in the IPL.
