CAN THE ENGLISH AVOID A DOUBLE WHITEWASH ?
by damodaran mohan on Jan 10, 2014 04:28 PM  | Hide replies

After 5 days horror series now it is going to be one day trauma series grind for the English ? Let there be no doubt that once a supposed to be a better Test English side meet the fate of total humiliation of a 5-0 Ashes series loss there appears absolutely no chance for them to redeem themselves in the one dayers where the Aussies are supposed to be far superior. Only consolation for the English must be it is going to be no more 5days of uninterrupted mental torture but just a day of angst and agony to be quickly gone through with and rush back home to relieve oneself from the forgettable nightmare of the Ashes tour. A possible chance to put up better fight for the English could be the news that the Aus side will be resting key players and tormentors like Johnson in the series opener on Sunday and thereafter likes of Clarke, Haddin etc.during the series. At least they are given opportunity to avoid a total whitewash!
