Pietersen, infact played confidently throughout the series but threw his wicket away at critical moments. He also got too impulsive and fell into the traps set by the Aussies. A Player who has played more than 100 tests, scored over 8000 runs, in a Ashes series should have been far more matured in his approach. Sadly it wasn't so. It is really strange that Vaughan suggesting to give Pietersen more responsibility. Had Pietersen played with maturity and salvaged some pride for England, he could have even deserved Captaincy. I guess he is still too impulsive to be thrusted with the highest post in the Team.
