Why do you have Asia Cup in Athletics and other games when you do have olympics once in a year? Why do you have winter Olympics when you have the Olympics once in four years?
How these Young & inexperienced team will perform in Asia Cup ?? I'm bit doubtful .
Team must always have correct blend of experience & youth . Without MSD , Yuvraj , Raina , who will the do the role of match winner or great finisher in middle order ??
Will these Rayadu , Rahane , Dinesh Karthik or Binny handle the pressure ??
If the score is Say 200 for 6 and we are chasing 280, these inexperienced batsman will succumb to pressure & will be all out around 250-260 , whereas MSD Yuvi & Raina always took Team India to victory under such situations . Even Jadeja for that matter is good .
The continuance of Asia Cup is all dependent on whether India wins the cup this year. If this event is won by Pakistan & Srilanka on more occassions than India the the Cup will have to be packed off. Today it is India which calls all the shots in World cricket, IPL is used as a bait to bring around revolting cricket boards, like CSA, & SLCB.

Rediff dint have time to ask this question. It was very busy in showing who all cried for him, how many undiesss were unwashed to ensure that the series went well, etc. I am sure that everybody (including his fantards) would have voted to scrap that series..

i'm stunned with this apathy shown towards a biyearly quadrangular asia cup by rediff..in the midst of countless bilateral odi/t20 series. don't they harm cricketing schedule? multination tourneys must be encouraged. asia cup is a gem of a tournament.

i don't remember anything from bilateral odi tourneys but i remember happenings of important tourneys such as asia cup
asia cup is an important tournament, scrapping such a tourney with rich history is uncalled for, why don't you ask for scrapping useless bilateral odi/t20 series which are tagged to every test series to make it a 'full series'. in these times, most tourneys are bilateral in nature, in such circumstances, the importance of a traditionally quadrangular tourney such as asia cup increases, afghanistan joins this time on the back of their wc qualification though. (while in the past hong kong, uae played too f.ex. in 2004, but i believe they were eliminated before the final four pairing of lanka, india, pak and bdesh, same happened in 2008 too. ) ...miss the 90s which had so many interesting triangular/quadrangular tourneys...even the aus summer has been reduced to bilateral odis. same fate befell on the natwest in eng. both of these were traditionally triangular

i voted with a resounding no. at the moment 10 votes for yes, 7 for no. i pity the people who voted for yes. they deserve to be bored to death watching countless worthless bilateral tourneys.

I guess both of us did the same mistake.. Rediff's great quality ensures that the heading asks "Should the Asia Cup be done away with?", and question asks "Thus, in such a scenario, is a tournament like the Asia Cup still relevant?".

the headline is in bold and in a greater font size than the rest of the article. also it asks a question and at the bottom asks us to vote based on the question posed in the headline , so shikari we did the right thing, it's rediff which is retarded , if at the bottom , it contradicts itself and asks the exact opposite question.

Yes, but end of the day either of us (Rediff one one side, users on other) arent sure if 13 Yes & 8 No till now are really FOR continuing Asia cup, or AGAINST it :).
