says the defeat was due to absence of fifth bowler. If he has to add his favourite Ashwin to the team Ajinkhya Rahane would have been out which means India would not have amassed runs in the first inning because century by Rahane would not have been there. NZ would have routed India on the fourth day itself the way they scored huge second inning score. I don't think Ashwin would have made any positive impact the way he was bowling on overseas pitches we saw till now. Dhoni allways say some excuse or other to defend or rather hide his own failure as captain.

Badly written article, no connection between heading and article. We need to infer the connection ! Heading could have been, Dhoni lauds bowlers or something like that.

Replace dhoni with Virat immediately
by alex on Feb 18, 2014 05:10 PM

How many days, how many matches..we are getting defeated just because of wrong captain approach. You have resources still getting defeated. Why wasting bhajji just because of Dhoni's personal issue. What a point of Aswin who takes wkts in turing India pitches and just useless in abraod.Even a club spinner can take wkt in India. High time to replace Dhoni and clean Indian cricket...just becaz of Srini hand behind him, Dhoni can not decide what he like instead of what TEAM INDIA need.

We are may be in situation of pre- Saurav era where we have individual brilliance but not performing as a team. or simply say " lion at home and lamb abroad. This only bcoz of dirty politics of Dhoni& Srini.

I pity your knowledge and thinking.. just check about the finals that we lost under him then you will know how good he was.. by far Dhoni is the sharpest of all the captains with proven guts and glory.. Our weakness is bowling unless bcci does something about it nothing is going to change

Hey Nandu I say you many times claiming dhoni won T20 Wcup/ODI wcup then now tell me what is the contribution of Dhoni in both the world cups?????????
Why are you following double standards???

1. Ganguly converted Sehwag into opener which helped indian team in Long run
2. Ganguly instilled agression in INDIAN team which helped INDIA in long run
3. Ganguly backed impact players to the core like Yuvraj/Zak/Sehwag who are instrumental in bringing great glories to INDIAN cricket (ODI Wcup/T20 Wcup/Test NO 1 ranking)
4. Ganguly converted Dravid into Wkeeper batsman to solve india's prblem of having wkeeper batsman this also settled Dravid's spot in ODI which ofter questioned due to his slow batting

Tell me one example of dhoni's such brillience which helped india in logner run????????????????????

kalyan karpurapu you have know cricket knowledge. ganguly brot nothing to the indian team... what happent to team india in 2006 ICC cup in in india? what happent to india in icc cup in 2004 in england? what MR ganguly brot for india? ganguly made dravid the keeper of india. then why he made MS DHONI the keeper of india in 2004 onwords? you fool study something before commenting. in 2004 mr ganguly sed that "i havbeen searching for a wicket keeper" as a result of that ms dhoni was included in the team. what is the need of dravid in the oneday team? if ganguly made good team what happent to team india in 2007 WC? do you know when ms dhoni made the captain he played with the same team selected by ganguly and dravid. then what happent? india lost the oneday series to australia 4-2 in 2007 in india. in 2008 we lost the asia cup.

The number of finals we lost under Ganguly speaks volumes about his fake agression and captaincy. No other captain lost so many finals as much as Ganguly

Shikari Shambu leader of all dhoni haters asosiation. whether india wins too or loses it will not affect me. the reason is ms dhoni hard won a series in newzealand. but i am worried about one fact ms dhoni lost to england in india in 2012-03.

REMEMBER, THERE IS WORD, YOU MISS THE CATCH U MISS THE GAME
by subrata banerjee on Feb 18, 2014 03:41 PM  | Hide replies

I hope our pace bowlers really showed their best form in the SA AND NZ series. But one thumb rule of the cricket match is completely sidelined by the captain dhoni, "U MISS THE CATCH, MISS THE GAME". In the second test against NZ both batsmen and bowlers performed very well, but, villains were fielders who dropped several catches in a short span in the second innings of NZ which proved very costly. In fact, wicket keeping is a specialised zone where a very specialist must be included, in stead of stop gap performer like our captain. You can not expect to win a match if a wicket keeper missed to take easy catches, as he supposed to be specialist one behind the stumps. But our indian selectors have been ignoring the best wicket keeper of our country to include in test team.

the catch that Dhoni dropped did not carry, I saw the entire match..

It was the mistake of kohli who dropped a very simple catch because he most probably halucinating about his girl friend who came with him to NZ. We should ban girl friends when they tour.. this will happen again if they let girl friends..

BTW, your are bong, so I can understand your frustration..
This is what happens when communism takes over..

I would rate Lax/Dravid's performance higher since it was against Australia who were undefeated in the last 15 or 16 tests.
