But Smith will never achieve the seat of playing overseas without winning more than one test against anyone.

Dhoni is the best captain for the ODI and T20 format. But it is high time that Dhoni is stripped off the Test captaincy. His Test record is now become godawful especially in overseas conditions.

what difference would that make? suppose smith has lost equal no of tests away it means he is as bad as dhoni or dhoni is as good as smith? right? and suppose smith has not lost that many abroad then that means he lost that many at HOME...and thats actually MUCH WORSE..is it not?

Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar,I wonder whether he could have played such a marathon innings to pull his side from the brinks of defeat.McCullum batted nearly 800 minutes for his superlative 302 runs. Sachin in his career never hit a triple century, never got a century in both innings of a test, which Gavaskar & Hazare have to their credit. Played 200 tests, but cannot remember even one innings he played in India's 2nd innings which saved us from defeat. He will go down as a man who played for himself and created personal records.

Dude, Do you expect one single batsman to hold all the records. It is simply not possible. And today's records are meant to be broken sometime in the future. While you talked about SRT's failure to score a triple century, think of the countless innings he had single handedly anchored in the past when the rest of his teammates were failing left, right and centre. What about the bowling attack he had faced, vis-a-vis the kind of attack McCullum played for the past 2 days? I am not taking away the credit from McCullum. But our bowling is possibly the most inconsistent in the entire world. Most of the other countries' records are/were made against India. So, when you are ready to give respect to an opponent scoring runs, why not do that to a fellow countryman?

Ashok Kumar,McCullum faced the bowling attack of the world's No 2 ranked side, and it was these same bowlers who helped us to gain that spot, and how come this attack has become toothless in a space of couple of months. SRT is a over hyped player, who failed whenever his side needed him, and it was left to Dravid & Laxman to bail us out.

SRT is selfish like McCullum. Scoring personal runs.

Ashok, for your information it is England against which maximum number of triple centuries have been scored, i.e 7, while 4 have been against India including McCullum's this one. So will you call the English attack toothless. Do not by any way try to denigrate McCullum's stupendous innings, which required tons of stamina, concentration, grit, and love for one's nation. Dravid had this quality,Sachin lacks it,and always seeked an easy way out like not going to SA, & BCCI had to get WI to play 2 tests here, so that Sachin could fulfill his dream.

Against Pseudos,it appears that your understanding of English language is poor,I have not mentioned that McCullum scored more double centuries against England, than against India. You have diverted from the topic,it is regarding triple centuries, and 7 have been scored against England, which includes 2 by Bradman,2 by Lara,& one each by Simpson,Cowper & Rowe, whereas 4 triple hundreds have come against India,i.e one each by Gooch,Jayasurya,Clarke,& McCullum.

I agree with you that SRT never had a 100 in both innings of the same test. However Dravid has done it twice & you've conveniently forgotten him? SRT scored 241 NO agst Bangladesh while dravid 270 agst Pak in Pak. SRT may have the max. no. of records to his name but he always played for himself & rarely for the team. Dravid & Laxman always played for the team & rarely for themselves. Both of them had monumental patience specially Rahul & seeing this knock from Brendon made me remember him only. Its bad that indian public always talks about SRT & very few about Dravid / Laxman.

Very poor thinking about SRT, boss he is the player who motivate full team, the way you a talking about his selfishness that is absolutely wrong. kindly go the statistic about his inning then you realize what he did for himself or for country.

I do not mean anything bad about SRT. it is just the stats that do all the talking. If he's the world's best how come there are 2 records that he never made? COme on yaar we've to give credit to every player in a team game. Dravid & Laxman had all these years been like 2 protective shields around him & hence very few people realized their true value. No one says SRT is bad, he was a gr8 player but in the last 2-3 years he was Ok by the high standards that he had set for himself. Pl accept the facts no heart feelings in the matter plssss.

Go and Check the records. When SRT failed, 99% of the time Team India also failed. That shows his contribution and other team platers' contribution to India's Cricket.
