smith and dhoni might have similar records. smith has been captaining sa for a long time and has captained 107 times with a winning % of 50 and dhoni has the same ratio.but the point here it difficlut for a captain to maintain this ratio even after 107 tests on the long run which smith has done whereas dhoni has captained only 53 tests with the same ration.have to wait and watch if dhoni cd maintain the same ratio even after 107 tests which i guess wd be difficult.bcos to maintain a winning % of 50 is much harder even after playing 107 tests maintaining it after 53 tests.its like scoring in a odi and tests.dhonis has a long way to go to catch up with smith and maintain the same %.iam nt debating as whose captainship is the best.both of them r better in their own way.but smith record as a captain may nt be so bad in a series at home or away as we have currenlty. so these records need to be analysed differently rather than just going by the stats.

the more number of matches u play the more it becomes difficult for a cpatain to maintain the winning ratio.this is what is called longevity which only few captains have done it.if dhoni cd do tht well and gud.
i can not travel to new zealand to watch such a great cricket after 12 years RAHUL DRAVID LAXMAN created history in kolkatta eden gardens NOW THIS PAIR SO ENJOY the nature beaty of GOLDEN BAY along with RABBIT ISLAND
wondering if mccullum would come up with rebadged puma bats too if and when he makes lara-esque score tomorrow...lara came with bats like lara 375 , lara 501 ..which were just rebadged gray nicolls...mccullum could do same with rebadged puma

not that it matters much but his first double was in hyderabad(2nd test) and not in ahmedabad(1st test) as stated

Once again, McCullum played a fluke inning, he is not at all a masterclass in batting and had stayed in crease largely due to India's mistake in fielding. He can never be a threat to Indian bowlers. It is their Luck, they got saved. India is still much better team and the same has been proved in past also.

it is just the mistake they made for that an incompetent team smelled a win till three days. fourth day they tested the real heat and started crying and started looking for excuse...who makes mistakes, only a middle class team and who give excuses, only peeggoosLike you...
brave has emerge winner, and for the whole one day kids could not take one mature wicket...that tells their story of fluke in world cup in semi and in final as well...

fortune favors the brave, or call it whatever you like, f.ex. brian lara scripted a famous win over aus in 1999 in the barbados test when he scored 153* ...he was dropped by ian healy who in the process also dropped the game, and his career (he retired the same year, i believe)

..eventually finishing the game in fashion..on 149* with windies requiring 1 run, the commentator goes ' now lara doesn't have to do anything silly, he can be calm and stroke a single' ..and what does he do?..strike a flamboyant cracking boundary to gillespie...(the same sort of delivery he almost got out to gillespie's last over)..fluke win or not, you decide!

Point is, this particular inns is regarded as one of the best knocks also over his 375 and 400 , because it came in telling circumstances , in 4th inns..and a match winning knock at that..it came down to batting with ambrose/walsh with 60 runs still needed...yet lara managed to do it . mccullum's inns too is special the same way, it may not win him the game, but it is a special match saving , and series winning knock, from 94/5 to 571/6 , the recovery is special!
