smith and dhoni
by kaala bandhar on Feb 19, 2014 02:34 AM  | Hide replies

smith and dhoni might have similar records. smith has been captaining sa for a long time and has captained 107 times with a winning % of 50 and dhoni has the same ratio.but the point here it difficlut for a captain to maintain this ratio even after 107 tests on the long run which smith has done whereas dhoni has captained only 53 tests with the same ration.have to wait and watch if dhoni cd maintain the same ratio even after 107 tests which i guess wd be difficult.bcos to maintain a winning % of 50 is much harder even after playing 107 tests maintaining it after 53 tests.its like scoring in a odi and tests.dhonis has a long way to go to catch up with smith and maintain the same %.iam nt debating as whose captainship is the best.both of them r better in their own way.but smith record as a captain may nt be so bad in a series at home or away as we have currenlty. so these records need to be analysed differently rather than just going by the stats.

the more number of matches u play the more it becomes difficult for a cpatain to maintain the winning ratio.this is what is called longevity which only few captains have done it.if dhoni cd do tht well and gud.

Wives of our team members are enjoying sky diving and beaches while next generation batting youngsters are lost in roads of New zealand are roaming with girlfriends. What can we expect from them rather than humiliation on field...Dhobi has to get ready for white wash..

Get rid of MSD please... He sucks these days...
by K Ram on Feb 18, 2014 04:00 AM  | Hide replies

Truly, Dhoni's magic wand is deserting him these days. He's bereft of ideas when the going gets tough. Basking still under, "Who will bowl the last over?..." even after a decade isn't going to help any more. There have been numerous false moves since then which have cost the team very badly. His liking for a few players has only denied the chance few other players deserved. He has made it amply clear by defending Jadeja going aggressive when he had a set batsman at the other end for company and ample time (more than a day left if I'm correct) at his disposal. Ashwin would have made a difference had he played the first test as Ashwin is better equipped as a test batsman and has a level head to play according to the situation. And even in this test, MSD wants reasonable numbers for Jaddu and he proved it by bowling him more than any other bowler as he wants a few more wickets in his tally with which he can play a few more series. I bet on any day, Ojha is a far better bowler than Jadeja. Not withstanding whatever runs they scored, I'd still rate Dawan, Rohit and Rahane as flat wicket bullies and they lack class to do well consistently on any wicket. Similarly, Ishant's few performance were only fluke and he still doesn't deserve a place in the team. Vijay probably is playing his last test innings today and he has to only blame himself for the same.

True, Dhoni favors certain bowlers and batsmans, ignoring their failure outside India.

i see few dhoni supporters always trying to defend him rather then analysing what went wrong under his captaincy over a period of time especially the abroad tours.a true cricket lover though a fan of any captain shd openly come up their analysis rather than trying to defend or compare with past indian captains..dhonis has won major tournamets for us nothing against hhim.he wanted team of his choice over a period of time since he started captaining india.but the problem he needs to accept changes positively when things are not going in his favour.yes a captain wd be more comfortable having a team of his choice over a period of time but at what cost.one can say this is a young indian team under dhoni nt exposed to abroad tours and may take time to start performing on foriegn pitches too.but few overseas matches over a period of time like in aus,eng ,sa and nz is more than enough to judge the calibre of a batsmen or a bolwer, one cant keep waiting for years for that to happen.by the time the team wd be under shambles as it has been with many overseas tour and this wd take us back to the dark ages again.this is one of the major problem with the indian cricket structure bcos of too much of influnce from the other sectors.the current young team might have the players of individual brilliance under dhoni.but it is the responsilibilty of the captain to bring the best out of them, this includes the selection of the team as wellthis is where the smartness of the captain comes out as well

You can keep saying kholi as the next sachin or pujara as the next dravid or laxman and wait them to perfrom since all
these players took few years before they started to perform.gaguly and dravid had some gud records during their tenure
as captain.gangulys team had the agression while playing against aus and drew the series against them.so is dravid who
has a gud captaincy record too excpet for the 2007 wc debacle.
but simple trying to compare with stats alone wd nt decide the best
captain of india ever.dhonis stats may luk better but thts not the point here.one needs to have a hollistic pic
under each captaincy and analyse their perfromance under their tenure as to what kind of strong teams they had played under
their captaincy rather than gng by the stats blindfolded bcos aus and sa are not the same team it used to be under
gan or dra captaincy
.dhoni works on his intution most of the time whis has
paid off for most of the times in his intial period of captaincy.bthe needs to use his nalaytical skills as well in
the game of cricket
to be called as the best captain of india ever produced by accpeting the changes and delevering the best out of them.
looking at the current cricketing nations.SA looks the best of all teams they deserve
the no 1 ranking at present though they may have mixed results bcos one needs to have
basic cricketing sense rather than gng by stats.they are a much better side than other cricketing nations
including dhonis team.

hahahaha

even at 40 they will say that.
And than they retire and vomit all they learned as commentator.

Fact of the matter is india has never had a bowling attack that can win matches, every win is imply a fluke.
