Problem with our Cricketers in general and bowlers in particular is that they reap rewards only in one match. Next match they throw away those rewards. However, our countrymen remember only the good performances, even if they are displayed once in a blue moon :-)
The guy who was continously messing up in onedayers giving away loads of runs, now after a good performance in 1-2 matches, the bad performances will be forgotten. and he will cement his place in the team for next 50 tests. And our dear captain dhoni and selectors wil chosse to ignore his consistent bad performances
of Ishant is firmed up for 5 more years with this performance. Yes last time he performed was in 2008 against Ponting. That performance has carried him thus far.
No taking away from Ishant's top comeback performances in NZ and hope he doesn't lose his way again.
However his comment is curious: ""What we learned for the second innings in (the first Test in) Auckland was that if you bowl in the good areas and keep it there for a long time you will get the results."
Bowling in the good areas for long periods is supposed to be a given. Did it take 8 Test matches in UK and Australia , two in SA and 7 ODIs for the Light to dawn ? Surely one can't take ten Test matches to find one's form overseas ? Or, are we slow learners ?
