He exposed himself to manipulations by first taking RS seat & now the ultimate honour from UPA government.It is rather unfortunate that real sports icon of India Major Dhyan Chand has been denied the right to get BR who won 3 Olympic golds & never allowed India to loose an international match for 17 years without charging a penny.can this be compared with someone who failed to win a single overseas series for us in his 22 yrs & seldom won a test on his own?He was a good batsman with no leadership quality that showed in the worst performance of team under his command & drop in his own performance.He was a great entertainer till 1995 ,but become a selfish & boring player who continued to play well beyond what was legitimate at the cost of youngsters.
Everybody should read about Dhyan Chand in net & how he played and won for India in foreign soil without earning so much. Everybody should read about Kapil Dev, for whom we became world champions in 1983. Everybody should read about P.T.Usha and many more! Thats why Indian degrees & awards are looked down upon in foreign countries! Every awards-degrees-achievements in India are deep rooted involved in POLITICS. Anything left for the UPA to 100t this country since indep ? Its a SHAME.
At last this award has been sufficiently degraded to honour a game so controvercial, full of bad tactics and hub of all kinds of criminalities. Not surprised if one day his name appears into some kind of controvercy relating to this game, hope his connections in the big world not let this happen.
