yes smithy,
by Mike Teflon on Dec 31, 2014 11:38 PM  | Hide replies

you prove, you are a 25-year old.. captaincy perhaps too early for an aussie..

Heck,A Test match victory is gifted to you on a platter and India wouldn't do anything to save the match. As also, neither would you do anything to earn a victory.. How naive!!!

Handicap
by kulvinder channa on Dec 31, 2014 12:22 PM  | Hide replies

There should be some handicap system to be introduced in cricket too, As every team in its home wins and looses in the overseas.
Lets make cricket more interesting by introducing handicap system.

So..!!
by miviu on Dec 31, 2014 11:22 AM  | Hide replies

He wants India to play according to his thinking..!!, if not they are not good. Has he gone mad, Chasing 300 on last day even with total 90 overs would have never happened earlier.. even if it happened, it might not be more than on couple of occasions..

Against good bowling attack its difficult even in one-dayers to score if the required run-rate is more than 5, and he wanted India to try when the target was 384 and overs left were 70.

If he was so, particular and confident of win he should have declared allowing Indian batsmen to play all 90 overs, they still had 320 runs to defend which is more than good enough on last day pitch with good bowling attack..

Actually he was scared after seeing India's valiant effort during first test.. hence wanted to ensure draw as first option. Declaration timing was unsportive, and very unlike Ozzie approach..

For once that statement is correct.. yes, Mr. Pseudos, you heard it right. I argued for the ouster of Dhoni in these very forums, but do not deny everything he says..

Typical aussie 'holier than thou' attitude. Always blame others. So not at all surprising.

Smith's blame on India for drawn test
by ibmtemp on Dec 31, 2014 10:50 AM

Mr. Smith you are something mad. It is because of you only test was drawn. You played till fall of nine wickets and gave mass score to chase. Just look behind your old colleagues Mark Taylor and Stewe Waugh they were not giving such a long run chase on last day. So it is totally your fault not of India.

Smith or whoever??
by Sam Alexander on Dec 31, 2014 10:31 AM  | Hide replies

He should be more humble at his maiden series win, instead he is blaming the Indians who would have been victorious had the umpires stopped giving unfair decisions.I wonder why our BCCI brains??? are refusing to accept DRS.No point in crying later after the verdict.

Smith is lucky to have Indians (paper tigers) as opponents in his debut series as captain. Had it been SA, England or New Zealand, they would have crushed this second grade Aussie team

India vs Aus

So, just to give a positive spin and something that Soccer embraces - looking at NET Aggregate - Home vs Away - India leads the series 4-2 with 1 Test to play. So, India in effect has won the series!!

Maybe moving forward ICC should look at series winner on a NET Aggregate basis - Home & Away!!

If india did not win the series outright, India would have drawn 2-2 if not won it.
I wonder if any one noticed australia has been playing a dirty game .
First the bowler tried to hit Kohli with a ball, and then carry the argument to the end. keeping India in a aggressive situation where India's concentration would loose.
Australia has been bringing players to the edge of breakdown of team relationship in every game played so far. With every one just thinking of Australia's next dirty move rather then the game.
Had Australia played a gentlemen's game it is a guarantee that australia would have lost.

Smith blaming INdia
by srirama chandra rao on Dec 30, 2014 10:24 PM  | Hide replies

It is not fair for Smith to blame India for no result. Smith played safe game by declaring the innings at lunch break today. Otherwise he is fearing may be India will go for chasing the target if it is declared early as in the first test
