DHONI-ASHWIN MUST AIM FOR INEXPERIENCED AUS BATTING COLLAPSEIII
by damodaran mohan on Dec 28, 2014 06:22 PM

(contd.)Given this background it remains to be seen how the two rival captains play out the 4th and 5th days, virtually reduced to a game of chess of making the right moves. It is now virtually reduced to tactical straight fight of two bowling sides and whosoever gets better of the two are likely to emerge the winner. Indian pacers will have to bowl much better than what they did on the 2nd day with Ashwin somewhat making it up for the relative edge Aus pacers enjoy as on the fourth and fifth days spin should play decisive part. One of the two between Ashwin and Natan Lyon could be the star and India must take care to not repeat Moin Ali experience of England to recur. For India it is now upto Dhoni and Ashwin to play their respective part decisively going for a win. Best chance for that is if Ashwin is able to effect a batting collapse of the inexperienced Aussie side---at least that should be the strategy. However for that to happen Dhoni must repose faith in Ashwin who in turn will have to have belief in himself. It is a lifetime opportunity for both.

DHONI-ASHWIN MUST AIM FOR INEXPERIENCED AUS BATTING COLLAPSE-I

Exactly this is the type of competitive cricket played by Rahane and Kohli indian cricket fans were waiting to see from the Indian side. Although Kohli is a bigger star between the two but to-day it was Rahane who looked more aggressive and fluent of the two. Both the hundreds besides Murali Vijay’s solid start were timely and now the match is very interestingly poised with all three results possible. It now depends upon the relative strengths, skill, mental abilities and the tactical leadership of the two sides as to who could come up trumps on the other. In the first two Tests India too had their chances but failed to seize the moments to capitalize and Aus ultimately prevailed on both occasions. In a way both the sides are inexperienced as far as Test cricket is concerned with Aus lead by a rookie captain while India enjoys the luxury of an experienced captain considered one of the best captains in the world in the shorter versions. Further, other than Steven Smith Aus batting does look suspect with the tailenders so far mostly making it up capitalizing on some inept Indian bowling due to some faulty execution.

of that worst test captain dhoni and that worst bowler for the last 5 years ishant sharma. Enough of these two now in test cricket. This shameless and listless dhoni hasnt got a clue along with that ishant and should be stripped off his captaincy and that ishant should be shown the door forever now.

Time for Dhoni to retire and pave way for others. His presence is hurting Indian test cricket
