re- Indian team

he way this selection panel has acted Pujara not at fault if we keep playing Rohit and dhavan and keep players like Manoj tiwari out we will keep losing. Also by the time world cup comes this team will be out of steam..So selectors need to call gambhir and yuvraj to give some depth and stabality..

Dreams must be happy

Now that, Steve Smith scored 192, Dreamer(a phorum member here), must have been rejoicing and going gaga..

He scored 3 centuries in a row and a good young batsman. Nevertheless, this Indian bowling lacked teeth and their captain employed questionable tactics at times, bowling short, when you needed to keep it full and play on the batsman's patience.

Mohd. Shami was drifting onto the leg or dropping it short repeatedly and was promptly punished, should not have been there in the first place and Aksar Patel should have got the nod in place of Aaron, who has been replaced by Shami, in the hindsight at least. What's wrong, playing to your strength..

All said and done, Indians do not inspire awe in test cricket overseas, at least, ever since Ganguly retired. They might even lose this one as well..

it appears Rahul was given an extended session in the nets, keep guessing whether in place of Dhawan or Rohit. If India plays four bowlers,it's got to be Ishant,Bhuvi/Yadav,Karn/Axar and Ashwin. No use playing three fast bowlers of this quality. I guess the XI will be Vijay,Rahul,Pujara,Kohli, Rahane,Raina,Dhoni,Ashwin,Axar,Ishant & Bhuvi or Yadav.

Alright, but is Rahul a regular opener? I didn't follow his domestic career so much..

Converting a middle order batsman into an opener doesn't click.. Opening is still a specialized position and we've no choice except 2 continue with Dhawan..

He scored 185 opening the batting against Central Zone in Duleep Trophy final. If he was not considered for opening, Raina should have been in in Rahul's place in the XI. Raina is a batter off spinner than Ashwin who bowls mostly carom ball.

Though Shami took 4 wickets, very very ordinary bowler.Axar or Karn would have veen much better.

Also, yes young Rahul deserves a chance. But for this test,I would have gone for Raina due to his experience in international cricket and also being a very decent off spinner which should help India on day 4.

Spot on bro, it needs cricketing knowledge to acknowledge the same.. Anyone else would've quoted his 4 wkts..

Without talking too much I'd say Aksar should come in for Shami in next test..

Next test is too late brother. In all the three tests so far India has failed in a basic thin like team selection. Even after that, they failed to seize the key moments.

Our bowlers lack genuine effort,

I have watched Smith playing in all the 3 tests in patches... even a school kid would tell, that he is very cautious about deliveries straight to stumps.. If one sees the boundaries he scored they are almost on wayward deliveries or fully pitched or which are not coming on to stumps..

Also his movement towards Off-stump, indicates he would like to play mostly towards leg-side..

Best thing he did was playing with straight bat and not taking any chance when ball is close to off-stump or on off-stump... We should appreciate him for his assessment of capability of our bowlers..

If not getting him out, at least Indian bowlers could have easily contained the run-rate, which wen amok once they crossed 300.. Believe they jus wait for batsmen to commit mistakes, especially in case of Smith..

yes bro, Indians didn't bowl the channel, didn't maintain pressure.. He knew all along that a bad ball is coming, all too soon.. He didn't take any chances, yet got plenty of boundaries..

Pathetic stuff from Indians..
