The statement of Ponting is a sarcastic one....
by Amod Karnik on Dec 25, 2014 05:56 PM

Unfortunately, we are not intelligent enough to get the sarcasm.
By now, most of us, who have even a modicum of understanding of Indian cricket know very well, that this team is NOT capable of competing cos it is based on wrong team selection.
Mind you, the Aussies are not even playing at 30% of their capacity, what with the Hughes tragedy and a spate of injuries.
If they play anything approaching their peak form, the margin of defeat will be humiliating for the Indians.
Its easy to blame Dhoni but the blame lies with the selectors for selecting a proven non performer like Rohit Sharma. Or a guy who cannot turn the ball like Ashwin......
All that is required for Australia to win MCG test is to bat first......our team would not be able to chase down even 150 against Lyon on the 4th or 5th day.
If we bat first, we will get bundled out under 200......so anyway, we are cooked. I hope we get crushed by huge margins in Melbourne and Sydney so that the myopic selectors start taking Test cricket seriously again.
Has anyone wondered why decline of Test cricket has happened in the last 3 years and that has coincided with the rise of IPL?? It can't be a mere coincidence, can it???

To win - India must attack from ball 1 onwards
by lee on Dec 25, 2014 05:06 PM  | Hide replies

If India is batting, they must attack the fastwest bowler Jhonson from ball 1st onwards. Attack Lyon as well, because defending them will only allow these bowlers to get on top of the batsmen. If India is bowling, bring your best and attack offstump with much fielders on offside, do sledging as well. Do not listen to Gavaskar's comments, he himself did lots of bad things during his career and now advices to be gentle cowards. Throw Rohit out, bring Rain a in- let him play kike T20 - atleast he misht score 70-80 runs in that manner.
