In the present team Suresh Raina could be termed as leading spinner for Indian side. There is no point in selecting Ashwin & Jadeja who would take 2 wickets giving 100 odd runs. Even Rohit Sharma would have taken those two if he had given the same number of overs which Ashwin bowled. It is disgusting to see Australian tail hammering Indian bowlers in Adelaide. Varun Auron is a club standard bowler. Dhoni should have given Karn Sharma one more opportunity than bringing Ashwin in to playing eleven. Selectors have bungled by selecting Ashwin & Jadeja who both can not spin on foreign pitches. Now that Axar Patel has replaced Jadeja on tour it is better we use his services in the third test in place of Ashwin.
VARUN AARON. AND HE IS NOT A SPINNER. BUT A WORTHLESS AND OVER RATED SO CALLED PACE BOWLER. TRYING TO SHOW HE IS THE FASTEST INDIA HAS, HE HAS ABSOLUTELY NO LINE AND LENGTH AND IS THRASHED BY ONE AND ALL EVEN TAIL ENDERS. HIS LEAKING OF RUNS ENSURES ENOUGH RUNS FOR THE RIVAL TEAM AND EVEN MORE TIME TO PUT PRESSURE ON INDIA. FROM A POSITION OF STRENGTH THEY ARE PUSHED INTO A POSITION OF DEFEAT. HE PUTS WHITE SUN CREAM ALL OVER HIS FACE TO LOOK MENACING (AND BIT LIKE SREESANTH) BUT HIS BOWLING IS JUST PEDESTRIAN WITH NO DECENT BOWLING PERFORMANCE TO SPEAK OF. AND THIS GUY FOR SOME STRANGE REASON GETS THE THUMBS UP FROM COMMENTATORS, SELECTORS & BCCI WHO AWARD HIM A CONTRACT INSTEAD OF GIVING HIM THE BOOT.
After Kumble we did not get good spinner, bhaji was good at the beginning of his career. But now we have the worst.. atleast ohja can once in a while clicks like ashwin, so they could have selected him for rotation with ashwin.
Re: AUSSES NOW VERY MUCH USED TO SPINNERS

To compound to our owes, Indian batting line up who are supposed to play spin very well, give overseas spinners heep of wickets; more than fast bowlers!
Available in India as on today.... all the people we heard of are part timers with batting and abit bowling... so its a shame that once known to be best spinner side has not even one full time spinner. Pl. dont consider ashwin as a spinner. and people like Amit Mishra and Karn Sharma are no class in international level as they bowl minimum 2 full toss as a gift in one over. they have no control on their bowling whatsoever.

yes.. actually no one in India including the one not selected/selected for WC.
Ofcourse India has quality spinners - P.Ojha is a great spinner and takes wickets regularly. But in parallel we have Dhoni politics which never allows P.Ojha to play, he always takkes his pets Ashwin & Jadeja in team. Just for one Dhoni, the whole Indian country fan cricket is suffering.

Lee you make us laugh... Consider ours is land of spinners like BS Chandra, Prasanna, Bedi & Venkat Raghavan! I think, the last man who spun the ball was Harbhajan!

You are also correct in talking about MSD! CSK obligation is becoming too much on MSD
Compare these players who call them as spinners with those of yore! Australians feared AS Prasanna as the best off-spinner, English struggled to play Bhagawat Chandrashekar, others feared Bedi & Venkat. Their quality was so good that Shivalkar was forced to sit out! Its a pity, we are forced to call Ashwin, Jadeja & Patel as spinners by default as there are none!

ITS not as prasanna, but EAS Prasanna, and not only Shivalkar before that VV Kumar had to sit out.he never got selected
