dravid

dravid could have been easily replaced by badrinath who is mr.cricket of india like hussey.
unfortunately he has not given even a single chance because of the foolish bcci politics and quoto system.
famed five is also in team.
after dada he could have been given chance like rogers in aussie team.
unfortunately flat pitch bullies like yuvi, raina, kohli, rohit, rahane, dawan and other uselesses were given chances due to machivillian politics of dhobi who is controlled by dee gaang.
further as talked by fooooolissh media and others it is only dhobi's team consisting of his chammchaas jadeja, ihant, bhuvi, umesh, rohit, dawan, raina etc in odi, tests and t 20 not team india.
that is the reason for this failures in tests series after series shameful defeats.
A.Mukhund,karthik,b.aparajith,yomagesh coud have been in team.
long time back five players from karnataka, delhi, bombay has been in team.
why not more than 1 or 2 player from tn ?
dirty politics ?
why SC is not orderig to probe the ipl scam about involvement of dee gaang, raina, dhobi ?
fear of life or money played its role ?

re- Pujara
by navdeep johar on Dec 27, 2014 03:05 PM

The way this selection panel has acted Pujara not at fault if we keep playing Rohit and dhavan and keep players like Manoj tiwari out we will keep losing. Also by the time world cup comes this team will be out of steam..So selectors need to call gambhir and yuvraj to give some depth and stabality..

way too early

1.      But for Pujara, VVS and Sourav, the rest must have batted at No.3 only as Night Watchman, so no great intelligence shown in including their statistics and making the list look so long. Be practical.

2.      You are trying to compare Dravid who had played 217 innings at No.3 with Pujara who has just played 38 Innings so far and asking if Pujara has lived up to the legacy left behind by Dravid. Don’t you think it is little too early and little too unfair to do that?

3.      What was Rahul Dravid’s statistics when he finished his first 38 innings? Could you please publish that as well to make the comparison fair?

4.      Rahul belonged to the Test Era, whereas Pujara is from the ODI and T20 era. Imperfections are bound to be there. Why do you want to bask in the past glory instead of relishing the current talent?

Too immature.

Rubbish! It is an insult for anyone not only Pujara to be compared to draavid. He has only contributed to himself and left the other 10 players to contribute to the team.

Ridiculous to compare a tyro to a legend on his own rights.Piñata has not started his career and we have a habit of comparing people with titans once one achieves anything as a flash in the pan.Piñata is a failure in tests not played in the sub continent.Rahul was the wall who stoically toiled to give India many historic wins in away as well as home series.Let Pujara play a knock of the class of Edens that RAHUL played to make INdia victorious even after follow on and the innings of class he played in Down Under England to give many test wins.We have a habit of making zeros in to heroes in no time and heroes to zeros at the fall of a hat.Pujara has a long distance to cover to prove he has class not he is in same class as Rahul.A distant dream.

Shriniwas Kelkar
India No. 3 batsman
by Shriniwas Kelkar on Dec 23, 2014 04:57 AM

This is the craziest comparison!!
From Table 3 as posted, Would you suggest that Ganguly was the worst batsman than Irfan Pathan or AnilKumble? and that Irfan is the next best to Dravid? ridiculous! Figures have meaning only up to a limit. Else aams will be compared with bers. If Dravid has batted at no 3 on 217 occasions, and the next best is 38 times, already there is no comparison.

Why to Compare
by Marwin Joe on Dec 23, 2014 02:44 AM

I dont understand why our media start comparing current players to some of the greats of all time when they have not even played 1/4th of the game played by them. let them play for some time and then they will make name for themselves. I believe comparing them creates a pressure or they start feeling like they are top of the world which result in there failure.
