The main point to note is that top teams win IN SPITE of umpiring howlers. Our team needs DRS just to avoid losing by huge margins. Just going in for DRS is not going to change the results of Team India in tests drastically- let's not have false hopes.

I disagree. One wicket of Murali Vijay started a collapse and resulted in Indian loss. Things would have been diff if Warner had been given out caught off the glove when he was in 60s in the 2nd inng of first test! So each and every wicket is important. In Eng, one dropped catch of Cook changed the full series.

Agree fully with you Balaji. One single wicket can change the entire complexion of the game. Right examples have been indicated by you. However, the matter is that the present umpires want to give verdicts in favour of the Aussies and against Indians, so every 50-50 goes Australian way. DRS may help but the umpires mental standing also matters. so India has to bear this and play much superior to get matches in their favour.
Pl note that Gavaskar is a cricketer and Shastri is a commentator . Sunny does not know to talk and shastri has never led India to a victory He never played for India, He enjoyed staying at wicket seeing his fellow batsmen getting out. i do not know who has empowered them to decide India's stand on DRS. DRS is a need of time and its emplementation must not be delayed due to these self-made duos. India won the latest world cup only due to DRS, recall thrice Tendulkar was declared not out by DRS and DRS only. You pl remove Shastri from his Directorship and see instantly he shall agree for DRS's implementation .

shastri ji, drs is there for the howlers basically, there's no 'can' about it,especially considering how its implemented for now. if i can understand this with very little wisdom, obviously an all-knowing you must know this very well.
