DROP ROHIT AND PLAY ASHWIN-JADEJA PLUS 3 PACERS
by damodaran mohan on Dec 14, 2014 06:38 PM  | Hide replies

(contd.)In fact the Aus famed pace attack looked no threat at all to Indians with Lyon taking 12 out of 20 wickets and should be an eye opener for India from this experience to bank on its strength of spin bowling to win in supposed pacy wickets conditions in Aus! Thus unless Indian spinners are used extensively and made to learn to adapt themselves in overseas conditions it will be very difficult for India to win on the strengths of their pacers who compare poorly to their overseas counterparts. So what next with Brisbane supposed to be a tougher venue! India must not panic as the young side looks quite promising and play regular spinner Ashwin in place of Karan Sharma and jadeja in place of Rohit who at no.6 at best can give 30-40 runs, no more! Jadeja and Ashwin together can give those 30-40 runs with availability of one extra bowler !Three pacers of Ishant Sharma,Varun Aron and Shami/Umesh Yadav can complete the bowling attack. This bowling attack should be played for all the remaining Tests irrespective of results and individual performances that will help bring stability to the side. Let there be no doubt that the presence of the 6th batsman Ronit Sharma is illusiosery.

it is a good suggestion. They can play with three pacers and two spinners. Dhoni comes as a batsman and wicket keeper. Jadeja and ashwin also can bat. My vote is to drop Shikar and bring in Rahul as he has played recently in Australia under India A team

DHONI SYMBOLISES STATUS-QUO DEFENSIVE TEST CRICKET
by damodaran mohan on Dec 14, 2014 06:30 PM  | Hide replies

Absolutely, I fully agree with ian Chappel that it is time to bring about the captaincy change India might have lost the game but for once team india went down fighting coming very close to winning, a turnaround not seen before on a overseas. tour in recent times! It is all credit to the stand in captain Virat Kohli for leading from front with his two century knocks in either innings and all important the aggressive intent to win at all cost rarely seen In Dhoni as Test captain. Thus going back to Dhoni will amount to maintaining status-quo not allowing a distinct change in Test team’s attitude brought about by Kohli’s leadership. Further, making Kohli the permanent captain will help him enjoy better hold on his colleagues Coming to the game proper as it was a heart break in the end it could be argued that Kohli should have tried to force a draw after his main batsmen like Rahane,Rohit etc were gone. But again it was doubtful if Virat could sustain with the tail till the end. Specifically although everyone contributed in the 1st innings it was only Murali Vijay with his gritty innings and resolve who stood by the captain with others mostly perishing to spin of Natha Lyon ironically. So the Pujaras,Rahanes….must shape up better against spin in the coming matches..

Virat Captaincy
by Kanai Chakraberti on Dec 14, 2014 04:21 PM  | Hide replies

One or two tons do not justify captaincy.
Apart from personal feat he has to prove a lot in team-game-team mate dealings, cunningness in fieldings, personnel management etc.
His captaincy may abruptly make an end to Dhoni's career too.
His personal life, affairs,night-club-culture etc. are not beyond doubt, as yet! These have already created negative effects on his health too.

why are we so bothered about his personal life...he is a boy who has grown up a cosmopolitan city and he likes to do what he wants to do and he had never shyed away from that. Just see the way the match was played...he showed others his character with never say die attitude...that is what it is important. Who are we decide about his personal life...enjoy cricket

by AJIT KUMAR BISWAS on Dec 14, 2014 04:19 PM

I fully agree with Ian Chappel that Virat Kohli should be made the Test captain. This should be done immediately. While we continue with M S Dhoni in ODI and T20,no issue.

40 odd runs wd have had a different headline.s thts cricket and it happens.we had backed to win the tests but no regrets is what we need post analysis comment from a captain.tht shd be the mentality of a captain rather than giving lame excuses off the field.but s all these r just a start. doesnt make him a gud or bad captain.will have to wait and watch hw he develops himslef as a captain nd then decide.

Public who go for drawals are most sufferers, police hold them and the original culprits are left free

ATM is the safest place to mix up fake notes and cheat the public. Why not the agency which fills the cash in the ATMs

What has that got to do with game of Cricket. Go and tell the bank and not us.
Knowing India banks will not agree it came from the ATM any way. There is no way one can prove it is banks fault and problem.
