It is really heartening to see the overseas jinx broken at last by the young side with a 4-0 drubbing scenario now looking unlikely. Indian batting only can get better from here on.The stand in captain Virat kohli has done well to lead from the front hitting a match saving century. Others like Murali Vijay,Pujara .Rahane,Rohit too have chipped in with useful contribution. Shikhar Dhawan unfortunately missed the opportunity on a good batting wicket. While batting in full flow he looks really good but when he gets out it looks a very poor dismissal. The coach has to help him get over this peculiar contradiction he faces every time. Indians are still not completely out of the woods as they need to play out at least little over a session .to be safe. One important observation. The way Nathan Lyon is getting spin and turn Ashwin must be going through real heartburn. The repeated decision of team management to ignore the front line spinner to play the first Test is something beyond my comprehension. Shouldn’t he have been picked ahead of Karan Sharma logically ? True his records are not very flattering but how can a debutant be picked ahead of him in the very first Test? Why pick Ashwin at all for the series ?
