need to rethink of strategies
by Kannan sri on Dec 09, 2014 03:35 PM  | Hide replies

remember 2003, where India almost dominated Australia in Steve Waugh's Farewell Series or Agarkar's 6 for with India almost in total control when Andrew Symonds escaped after umpire's error, India at that point appointed Bruce Reid as their bowling consultant ,who taught Indian bowlers how to bowl in Australian Conditions.Since the team is new and Almost every fast bowler [except Ishant ] is new, Why not BCCI try to hire a temporary Australian bowling consultant like Gillespie /McGrath /kasparowicz / Brett lee/ Hughes/McDermott / Bruce reid again to coach youngsters for getting up in Australian Conditions. They can definitely provide a new dimension to Indian Bowlers atleast till WC 2015. Also remember Zaheer sharpened his skills once he went to play English county, same should be encouraged for all Indian Bowlers / Batsman. That should definitely remove the nick-name of Flat track bullies for our Bowlers which can yield better results in Overseas Tours. Unless or otherwise you train hard, you will not reap fruits. If somebody from BCCI takes an initiative to do things, should be a right step in understanding Australian conditions and start towards the mission world cup. Else we people keep taking about Mission world up for 1 more decade till it resumes back to Indian Soil.

India did well in the final moments with Shami taking two wicket. Well done India to restrict Australia despite fine innings from Warner

Picking up Clarke and Steve Smith is most important Mate. Can TA Sekar [From MRF PACE FOUNDATION] / B.ARUN, our new Bowling coach help Shami and Varun Aaron guide properly towards bowling more wicket taking deliveries with tight line and length to pick wickets instead of how they bowled today morning. In my opinion, Since we have part time bowlers like Murali vijay / Rohit sharma / VK himself ,India should have gone with 4 quicks includes Umesh.Agarkar in cricinfo pointed out , India did a mistake of flattering in line and length instead of bowling tight. McGill pointed out , Karn Sharma as a wrist spinner should go for Wickets ,not for controlling Runs.Once wickets fall, runrate will come down automatically. You cannot bowl in the same way like how you bowl in India. It will not help you out. Thats why we get whitewashed in UK and Australia ,Where Australia reversed with similar results in India.BCCI bring the richest and wealthiest organization for Cricket in the world should start taking steps to get facilities for training in Pitches similar to Australia and must employ a bowling consultant who can guide them how to bowl in aus/Eng.When MRF is regarded is one of the best for Training Fast Bowlers [VAAS,Zaheer,Srinath,Venkatesh Prasad,Sreesanth,L Balaji are MRF Products only], employ and find ways to bring people to get the best out of bowlers.Else talking alone will sustain ,not in action.

Rao-saab,India surely missed Ashwin who could have played in place of Shami if India had decided to go with only four bowlers. Assuming India almost match Australia's first innings total, Ashwin will be badly missing in the second innings. This is the only pitch which helps spinners and hence the best chance for India to win.
