THE BATTING HAS TO COMLEMENT THE BOWLING
by damodaran mohan on Dec 09, 2014 04:53 PM

Indian pacers took time to settle down giving away some easy runs in the early sessions although to their credit towards the end of the day they did look to have got their rhythm. Thus overall for the day undoubtedly it is one of their best performance overseas in recent times.. In fact Ishant Sharma looked good with his economical overs right from the start in the morning.Shami looked a bit erratic to start with but gradually improved over the day to finish with a flourish of two wickets towards the close. Varun Aron did produce some fiery spells with his short pitch deliveries including one beautiful rising delivery that got Shane Watson. However he does look physically strained and worrysome at times. Congrats to Karan Sharma on his first Test wicket and hope he will be more effective in the 2nd innings.Should the pacers maintain this rhythm the prospects of getting the aussies out for under just 400 plus runs 2nd day morning is quite bright .It is for the stand in captain Virat kohli now to not allow the situation to drift as it used to in the past. Such 400 plus scores are but normal in Test matches and it is now for our young batting brigade to complement our bowlers to make a match of it and not allow the trend of whitewashes overseas to continue.

It is not that India is weak in its pace bowling It is otherway round, Australia played better off them as they are accustomed to play pacers with 140-150 kms speed
