against australia dhoni has captained 11 tests won 8 losts 3....(in aus dhoni did not lose 4-0 but 3-0. the last test sehwag was captain as dhoni was handed one test ban because of slow bowling over rate of indian bowlers...

The Difference Between Ganguly's and Dhoni's Team is, Ganguly's Team Never Surrendered any series in any Country. And you can't say this same thing for Dhoni. And The Opposite Teams were filed up with many many Legends.

This is the best chance for Dhoni to Win a Test or atleast Draw a test. Because Dhoni don't have to worry about McGrath, Lee, Warne, Ponting, Waugh Bros, Hayden, Gilchrist, Symonds, Langer etc. The current AUS bench has only ODI Players. None of the except Clarke is known for Test Match Players.

btw, even when dhoni captained indian team first time in his life he won the tri-series in Aus against officially no 1 odi team at its full strength team filled with legends...while indian team was mostly new except sachin and sehwag...

We are talking about Test Here. The Article is about Test Match. and About Dhoni Defeating Ponting's Team, Thats Only in India and that too Just 2 Tests, Not 4 Tests (read stat carefully). in Aus, Dhoni got white washed. No any captain except Sachin got failed in the same manner in last 25 Years. The interesting point is even sachin didnt got white washed in 2 Countries.

dhoni has defeated ponting team 4 times in tests...the stats given above are wrong...kumble did not captain 4 times in that series 2 times kumble was captain and 2 times dhoni...kumble drew both tests and dhoni won both tests...
against Australia who is better Ganguly or Dhoni? Both have captained two series in India and one in Australia. Both have won the two series in India. Ganguly captained 11 tests,won 4, lost four and drawn 3. Dhoni captained 10 tests,won 6 and lost 4. Ganguly had the luxury of best players in his team like Laxmaan,Dravid,Sachin,Kumble,Bhajji etc.
