Aakash Chopra showed the way

Use a light bat and blunt the attack in 25 overs without conceding too many wickets. Then make the most of the remaining overs.

Chapell banking on Brother
by Devdutt Sen on Dec 07, 2014 08:39 AM

Ian bases his prediction on the possibility of some residual damage left in the Indian team, from what was caused by his brother.

May be the correct prediction or may not be correct, but one thing is certain that any Indian who makes this kind of a prediction is a parasite on the country

Illogical Comments
by Ritesh Sisodiya on Dec 06, 2014 11:04 PM

It seems Australia already started finding excuses. Hughes died on the field and its sad. But don't say that the things will change due to that. Indians also lost their rhythm due to it. They were as involved as any other Australians. Moreover, Indians are not so good at bouncers so they will be more worried than Aussies. I believe, the first test will decide the fortune of this series. And if Virat leads the first test with his ruthlessness, I can see India winning this series.

Chappel is cautious
by mikendaavey on Dec 06, 2014 09:36 PM

ightly so he's cautious in writing OFF the indian team.I think 2 factors he put forward are speaking a lot of his wisdom. If Ishant/Yadav gets 3 wickets iin first 2 sessions of Aussie batting then the pressure could take toll.If India performs well on the opening front--like playing 20 odd overs before loosing a wkt then I see India either keeping the series levellled at 1-1 or winning 2-1,, Chappel being Australian and writing in home series could NOT say but I know he has said the same as I said in different words.
Disaster like 2011/12 is NOT happening--may be like 2007 or 2003,
Good Luck India

Hi Devdutt You've said it right about the "damage" that Gregg did.
In causing the damage the responsible party is BCCI.In my opinion BCCI failed to study the history of Aus Cricket.
As a child following the world cricket I had heard about the Great Gregg Chappel. Ian did play well in India vs Bedi Prasanna and I believe Venkat/Chandra. Greg as great he had been refused to come to India to play spin because he did not like the country itself. No hard feeling about his choice. We all have our own preferances but why BCCI did not pay attention to his "Dislike" from 70's in to 80's?
