RAIDU BOOKS NO 4 SLOT FOR WC.DROP ROHIT SHARMA
by damodaran mohan on Sep 01, 2014 01:06 PM  | Hide replies

Good question for most of the Indian c/fans.Answer has to be an emphatic yes, a 4-0 whitewash of the English provided Capt. Dhoni doesn't go defensive or comes up with some weird decisions. Why I say this is because very few would agree with his decision to bowl in the background of the previous match scores! However it is to his credit he did well to change track when the English were going great guns at 82/0 and pull back the game towards India. The Toss decision could have backfired but part times like Raina and Raidu did well with the ball to turn the tide.Once the main spinners took over the English were virtually blown away unable to play spin. Evidently Raidu and Ashwin were both the main stars. Easily it was one of the best one day responsible innings Raidu has played and likes of Rohit and Rahane should learn from him.Raidu for all practical purposes has booked the no 4 slot for the WC and he should be persisted w/o being disturbed. He claims he is a much better bowler than what is acknowledged.Dhoni should certainly use him more as part time along with Raina. So batting position nos. 3,4,5&6 are settled and should be left undisturbed. As far as 1& 2 positions, Murali Vijay if successful in the next 2 matches, then Dhawan ,Rahane and Vijay could be tentatively considered for the WC opening slots. Rohit Sharma needs to be dropped from WC squad and one among youngsters like Kedar Jadav , Naman Ojha, S/Samson …could be picked.Bowling and Spin options ?

(contd.).....Later but Umesh Yadav should get a chance in place of overworked B/Kumar. As far as the English are concerned Cook is not sure of his first playing XI and team management about the 15 and captaincy itself !

ONE DAY CRICKET MATCH IS FULL OF UNCERTAINTY.
by subrata banerjee on Aug 30, 2014 03:14 PM  | Hide replies

One day cricket matches are like gambling. It is not possible to predict who will win and it is observed that less talented cricketers may perform better in one day format because of limitations on fielding side and on helpless bowlers. On any day any team can beat any one. India is now number 2 and England is number 5 in one day ranking, but, it is not sure that India may win in every match against England. Remember, quality of cricketers are really exposed in only Test matches where is fielding restrictions, no bowling restrictions (barring a few). In Test match a batsman or a bowler's quality can be gauged clearly and properly.

Rohit Sharma's Inujury

We certainly miss him. But there is an opportunity for others like Rayudu and Sanju. Rahane can open the innings and Rayudu can step in at No. 4 or 5

Can India continue winning ODI
by gurcharan singh on Aug 29, 2014 06:39 PM

Please do not ask such question. As and when you ask India losses. Stop such practice in future. Let the team play calmly.

Yeah, after winning at Lords, the team has become complacent and lost the subsequent matches. Let us hope, similar pattern doesn't repeat in this ODI series.
