There is no point in criticizing Dhoni or his captaincy. He has a bunch of T20 players who can only play on placid Indian pitches.Incapability in playing in foreign conditions has been prevalent for decades, but the powers to be in Indian cricket are not bothered and have not taken any steps to correct the situation. We have placid tracks for our domestic tournaments and there seem to be so many century makers. One clear example is Jadeja. It is sad that he is considered a good allrounder. he can bat in only Indian conditions. Before anyobne judges the captain of the team, let us consider for a moment what the BCCI has done to help the players get accustomed to the conditions prevalent in england or Australia. Practically nothing. It is a sad reflection on the BCCI. This situation can be changed only if BCCI is managed by accomplished past cricketers.

Only a brainless captain will stick to no third man stand even though team conceded over 700 runs from that area.Is he answearable for anything or can get away with murder thanks to his proximity to another arrogant person now in ICC?

Do you mean to say that the team should spend 3 months before the series to get accustomed to the conditions? You must be out of your senses
No captain can save a match without any contribution from batsmen. Dhoni performance is better than other player. Dhoni try to save the match at critical juncture. No player in present Indian Team can replace Dhoni

Gambhir who does not even command a place in XI as captain? Where are u coming from? Just bcoz he won a T20 IPL trophy u wanna make him test captain?
Maninder Singh is absolutely right. Test Cricket needs a larger perspective, a deeper strategy and a plan A and Plan B always at hand. But Strategy is always lacking in Dhoni's captaincy. He is an instinctive captain, and his instincts prove right in the shorter versions, but in test cricket his instincts are countered by planning. And he panics when his instincts fail.

Guys, no doubt Dhoni is a good n very successful captain. But his success made him blind and he indirectly forced the great playes to take retirement ( Dravid, laxman, Sachin etc and he ignored Zaheer Segwag etc). All of them could have played more 2-3 years on rotaion basis and in between Rehane, Pujara etc could get the benefit playing wth them. In short Dhoni doesn't want best 11 ( talking abt test matches), he wants best 10 who should be his blind supporters .eg. Jadeja, raina, rohit, ishant, aswin etc..

Ashwin wasn't even selected by Dhoni for 6 test matches before he had to be given a chance. You are right about others.
Dhoni has icc srinivasan back up...that's why he is still continuing as captain with these type of absolute surrender defeats...because of the back up only he is announcing to the world that Fletcher will be the coach till world cup...otherwise he would have been removed ...never to forget that dhoni -chennai super kings-srinivasan link...
dhoni has strong back up with bcci /icc mr .srnivasan ...that's why he is continuing as captain and also he is announcing to the world that Fletcher will be the coach till the world cup...otherwise with these type of humiliating defeats no body can continue
