team India's failure in England
by srirama chandra rao on Aug 20, 2014 02:12 PM

BCCI should take steps to prepare seaming pitches in INdia so that players get to know to play on those pitches which gives bounce and swing. Otherwise they will be failing abroad. We have talented players even in India A team. They need to be groomed well for the future challenges. We cannot produce Tendulkars, Dravids overnight

Stupid former players
by bino sley on Aug 20, 2014 02:04 PM

Former players are shouting about the couch as if he had batted in all innings. If the Indian players are making the same mistake what the coach can do. train the indian players in seeming condition and prepare pitches like that in india.

Fletcher is not fully responsible

Gary Kirsten is said to be the best cricket coach India has had, under him India won the ODI WC @ Mumbai. However, fans and our esteemed former cricketers who are waiting to tear apart Duncan Fletcher, conveniently forget that in Kirsten's era India never toured England & Australia, (the two most difficult tours), and thus one cannot gauge what our fate would have been if those tours had taken place. Unfortunately for Fletcher, in his era as coach India has toured England twice & Australia once,SA-1, & NZ-1, and will be going to Australia again this winter, where we are sure to lose very badly. So Kirsten was lucky that India did not have tours of the strongest countries in his era and very conveniently laid down the job of India's coach in 2011, prior to our England tour, leaving Fletcher(Kirsten recommended his name to Bcci)to face the music. Infact the best foreign coach India had was John Wright(2000-2005), under him India drew with England in England, drew with Australia in Australia, both in 2002, beat the strong Australians in India 2-1

NO NEED FOR FLETCHER TO RESIGN
by Shilpa Mehta on Aug 20, 2014 11:19 AM  | Hide replies

Can teachers be sacked / resign if students fails ??

Answer is big NO .

Senior Team players representing an country are not kids OR beginners that they need to be spoon feed .
Job of coaches at senior team level are only to support on critical issues & fine tune their existing skills .

What will any coach do if all our so called front line batsman & bowlers failed
miserably ??

And what will u do if the team performs

even more badly after replacing the coach ??

Go on searching for coaches after coaches ??

The case is clear . We can not sack captain or players. The problem is that the players were not ready for five test matches . So performance started to dip after two test. I don't understand what Ishwar panday is doing when captain has no faith in him. The half bowler Jadeja was given chances. Well Dhoni escaped again. Most importantly dhoni will never use coaches starry. After world cup he was so powerful and adamant to discuss with teammates that he wanted a puppet who can only talk in dressing room but he will never implement. Fletcher should resign and talk about dhoni

Why blame the poor coach?

When the players have no technique for test cricket in first place?

Stop IPL for few years. This will help to groom some real test cricketers.
This is wierd.
