his basics are poor
by satya s on Aug 17, 2014 02:29 PM

basically dhoni's cricketing basics are shaky..

1. has misguided faith in allrounders who are not going to perform miracles for him.

2. backs trundlers if they "have skills". this is poor sense of cricket history.no trundler has been a cricketing great in 140 years

3. poor strategic skills in tests.gives freebies to opposition with defensive fields.

just because he mastered some areas like finishing matches and being calm, does not mean he does not have flawed understanding of cricket.

in short he probably stopped learning after he achieved something but he didn't unlearn some of his bad habits so that he can achieve more.

that will be his downfall. the best people are those who learn relentlessly and correct their mistakes from failures.dhoni has done neither for tests.

he deserves to go and has only himself to blame.

When you promote people based on match winning capability people will be fired up to perform......but when you promote your chamchas and bench or elimiate talented people - The output is what you seee.........

This series is one more best example of his wierdest of weidest team selection........

I am not sure if sir Jadeja merits his place into Zimbambwes TEst team ahead of Ashwin

Ashwin is far far far better batsman than Jadeja and no need to comment on bowling

honest suggestions by crowe

this a true suggestion from the great batsmen, unlike in india we have the greats like gavaskar, shastri, kapil, mohindar, srikant etc who allowed dhoni to see our country getting loose shamelessly for 13th time in a row. it is there duty to speak out when every body knows dhoni is meant for shorter formats and he lacks tactical skills for test. Dhoni has said in his earlier interview that he hasnt watch much cricket and he was a goalkeeper earlier who just got promoted in cricket for his hard hitting abilities.his basics are not right for tests he is a great entertainer in coloured clothes.

Mohinder Amarnath was against his inclusion in the test team itself. That is the reason he was sacked as the national selector.

Mediocre captain, has no sense starting from team selection & also no vision. Restrict MSD to ODI's and T20.

Restrain Dhoni in a straightjacket. He must not be allowed to escape from Kilpauk
