1990 vs 2014
by M Dhoni on Aug 10, 2014 12:18 PM

In 1990, in England at same venue target in front of India was 408. score was 183/6 and defeat was inevitable, but Sachin Tendulkar changed the game and almost won the match by making an outstanding century under tough conditions. When the match ended in a draw, India was just 55runs away from victory and Sachin Tendulkar remained unbeaten with an OUTSTANDING BRAVURA SHOW, when he was not even an adult.
When will our so called talented youngsters will play such an outstanding innings on a fast and bouncy pitches against quality bowling OVERSEAS……?
Plz dnt expect this bravery from use_less_buff00ns_lyk_ dhoni who peES on fast n bouncy pitches….

not a perfect team sports. when 9 out of 11 players are sitting in pavilion then how it is a team sports? there is too little team activity in cricket as compared to power sports like football

gentle man game. gentle means soft. sports and gentle are contradictory. cricket is better call a sluggish sports.. sports has nothing to do with gentleness.. we have already seen match fixing, spot fixing, and corruption in cricket.

cricket is not even qualified for olympics.. it is mostly played by weak sporting nations like india, pakistan, sri-lanka, bangladesh.. if india stops playing cricket, it will die it's natural death.. still, we expect Maria Sharapova to recognize sachin.. hypocracy!

i am saying cricket is weird game by giving some valid logics.. and u failed to reply logically.. as per india progress in sports.. it's just few individual contribution... Brazil losing in football world cup is no surprise because it's too competitive sports.. just imagine, if america, argentina, china, germany type countries start giving interest in cricket, then india won't even qualify for cricket world cup..

most funny thing in cricket is when someone ask who is playing? in other sports, everyone is playing.. in cricket, only batsman is playing..

"We should stop taking cricket as being important in our lives. Just imagine how many hours/days we wasted on it over our life. Those could have been used for better purposes. Treating cricketers as heroes has made them a shameless bunch of fools and multi-millionaire. They actually get the money whether win or loose coz we as fools watch them play."

Go by your logic, then we should not follow any other sports then.. why Eng putting so much of money n effort on football, where they even dont qualify to second round? Its also waste of money right ? Then, why other nations putting so much money when they know hardly 7 or 8 nations in football world will go to semi and one of them will win the cup? Coz lvst 40 yrs see, who r the semi finalist n finalist then winner.. one or 2 cases may find a team out of those 8 nations went to final or semi final..

Dont go by these kind of stupid logic, every sportsperson has given brand name to their respective countries.. so dont fool yourself.. and FYI, nobody watching test cricket all the day, 99.99% you will find people watch few hrs after their hard work.. only T20 cricket now-a-days people watch from biginning to end..that also with few selected matches..

its good to invest money in football as it's global sports. cricket is mostly played by weak sporting nations like india, pakistan, sri-lanka, bangladesh.. so, no reccognition of indians worldwide.. cricket not even qualified for olympics.. look at current event, where Maria don't even recognize sachin.. but she easily recognize beckham.. that shows we are wasting money in cricket and getting nothing in return.. if india stops playing cricket, it will die it's natural death

who is thatSharapova? Do u think ICC ever try cricket should be included in Olympics? Check the fact, ICC nor any governing body dont even care to send their team to asian games

Weak nation? NZ, aus, Eng and many carribean countries incl Jamaica plays cricket with passion.. r they weak nations in Olympics? How do you define that?

Do you ve idea that there are 15 Carribean countries who playes cricket as a single country called as West indies. So, if you go by number of countries then regularly, 25 countries play cricket in main league, where as many other countries like NEpal, afganistan, ireland, nambia, kenya and many more play with passion in division II. and about followers, nearly 30% of world population follows this game, let us know apart from Football, which other sports ve this many followers?

Who is Sharapova? ask Bekham he will tell you sachin is? and if you want to know from tennis faternity go and check with the father of all tennis stars in last 20 years, Federrer, he will tell you who is Sachin?

Tell me anyone who dont know Tiger Wood? and which sports he represents? and how many coutries or countrymen follows this sport? Its matter of marketing nothing more or nothing less?

it seems u don't know anything other than cricket in sports.. btw, Sharapova is one of the best tennis player.. tennis is second most popular sports after football.. cricket is mostly played by weak sporting nations like india, pakistan, sri-lanka, bangladesh.. even the originator of game, England has lost interest in cricket.. they r crazy about football type power sports.. it's time for india to take bigger challenges.. raather than competing with pakistan, bangladesh type countries.. we shd have courage to compete with China, Japan, America, Russia, Germans, Spain,..

whole world is passionate about football.. if u think US is not passionate about football then how they got qualified for world cup reached round of 16. india is ranked more than 150 in football, still their is craze abt football in india.. in football, competition is too high, so ranking doesn't reflect passion for game.. and winning 8 medals in Olympics is a shame for india like large nation.. currently, chess is the only sports where india has some hope. all credit goes to vishy anand

and you fool none of the above countries China, Japan, US r playing football with passion..their main sports r track n field and other Olympics, then why r you barking about Football? I ve nothing against with other sports... and India is good at shooting, chess, now playing good in badminton, boxing and things r changing.. if Zero in olympics, then last time we own 8 medals in Olymipcs.where r those came from?

Who is good wicket taking spinner? in india/abroad or against england
who is good at playing spin bowling? in india/abroad or against england

answer is no one.

even england came with two spinners can succeed in india then whats the answer from Dhoni/BCCI?
After Laxman,Dravid,Sachin no body has been shown resistance against spin much except pujara in intial days..
cook is really relishing success on india?
not to mention talent pool has been very good for england last 4-5 yrears.
root, cook has ability to play spin well bell comes close to them.

India should have two teams one play only in india one plays abroad.
Its not format specialization its location specific or opposition specific team we need.

Indian batsmen should adopt mentality of patnership contribution than the individual scores..

Dont do any analysis..Its of no use..Its been almost 20 yrs..guys like us always do offline analysis..

Its high time..we should stop watching cricket..

We are into this sports since 90s...we have put in so much of effort but no result..

countries like aus and engalnd also playing other games (soccer,rugbyetc)..just imagine if they start investing thr 100% focus on cricket thn what will they do to india in all format of cricket(20-20,one day ,testetc)

Paper Tigers....
by K Ram on Aug 10, 2014 09:29 AM

These Kohlis, Jaddus, etc., possess not even 10% talent Sanga has and yet earn 10 times or even more and enjoy a greater stardom. They started believing they're the best on earth and started disregarding bowlers and are playing extravagant shots to become laughing stock and getting exposed. This is the real stock of Kohli and Sir. Jadeja. While Robin Singh could be discarded after one test, Badrinath after three innings, these bare, empty vessels will carry on despite failing time and again as the marketing giants and industrial houses have invested heavily on them and they want these paper tigers to succeed by hook or crook. Let's at least not fall prey for them after all, we're only looted for paying these paper tigers and hail the real talent like Sanga, Anderson, Amla, Ajmal, Steyn, etc.,
