Point to note
by Ramachandran venkatesh on Apr 24, 2014 08:00 AM

Agreed that Sachin and Bradman lived in different times. Probably Sachin lived in a more competitive environment. However, note this point
The article talks of Sachin's Whooping test average of 53.82. Why has the world forgotten that Bradman's test average was 99.92 (the ever famous duck in his last appearance. If he had got a boundary and then got out his average would have been 100!). How can anyone ignore this difference

No need to compare . Different era , different motives , different gears , different frequencies of matches , so what are we comparing . Pure gossip !!

No comparision
by mahesh pargaonkar on Apr 23, 2014 10:38 PM

Check the list of top 10 test and ODI bowlers in the history and you will find Sachin faced all of then succesfully...it means he played the best bowling attack in the history of game...he played 60 over ODI , 50 over ODIs, T20 and tests....in his 24 years so many rules were changed to make game more compitative and fast... Sachin was always first to adopt and utlise those...there can not be any comparision between him and Don Bradman who played only test cricket....Bradman was great as he played without any protection but Sachin is way ahead than him...

Promotional book
by Ashish Singh on Apr 23, 2014 09:16 PM

Looks like the author has received promotional fees from some of Sachin's sponsors for writing a book praising him. Who is this Mr Fernandez is not known, I do not think he represented India or even some states in Ranji/Duleep trophy. It could be called a paid book,as the politicians are doing in our current elections in getting favourable reports.

Bradman over the years faced same bowlers esp.england bowlers with no pressure

whereas sahcin has faced most versatile attack of Ambrose, Walsh, Donald, Devillers,Mcgrath, Lee, Morrison, Akram, Waquar, Akhtar, Styen, Murleetharan, Warne, Shaqualen, etc. and with heavy pressure on him

Bradman in his era had no helmets, chest guards, elbow guards, thigh pads etc to protect himself from bouncers, and the pitches in his era were more grassy helping quicker bowlers. Sachin with all the protective guards on looked more like an astronaut than a cricketer. There is and will be no one like Sir Don, a man who scores 300 runs in a day in test, is a genius.

Agree with you, and even at that time without any protection there was no fixed rule of limited bouncers in an over. No comparison for sure. Even Indian batsman in Bradman's era like Vijay Hazare with overall test average of 47 is only after Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar and Rahul Dravid. The famous 1947-48 Adelade Test against Bradman's team where he became first Indian to score Centuries in both Innnings of a Test Match, facing fearsome seam attack from Aussie Bowlers like Lindwall, and Miller, that too without any helmet, chest guard, elbow guard, thigh pad etc. is still one of the finest innings ever. That Adelade Test is still remembered as Hazare Test. Simply no comparison. Even Bradman at that time was very impressed with performances of Hazare and Vinoo Mankad etc. Bradman's still the best...
