what ICC doing. why they keeping Ireland away still. i think, top two association teams should play Test with other 10 countries instead of removing bangaldesh/zim. when time goes the should become permanent member.
this is a tricky situation for associate members, not only they need to win the intercontinental cup, but they also then play one of the teams already having the test status in the hopes of attaining one for themselves at the expense of the team already enjoying the test status.
this has made things very competitive and a difficult approach for associate teams to have a shot at the test status, unlike how it was with bdesh which was handed the test status on a platter by the bcci for the asian vote.

bdesh has a poor record at it, managing only a few wins that too not against one of the better teams of the day..plus, they have too many losses, and too little draws, this is a major concern...
add to that, you have teams and people making all sorts of records against them..remember how nightwatchman gillespie made an unbeaten double hundred..?
Associate teams do not need test status..they need to play with 10 test playing nations in ODIs, T20s in regular time so that they can nurture themselves in competative way..which is better for cricket.. dont make same mistaken which you did by allowing Bangladesh a test playing nation..
They are a useless team that has never won any test. They do not bring in any money to ICC coffer and is a parasite that is draining money form real 3 big cricketing nations. Just relegate them.
