LIFETIME BAN NOT ENOUGH.ONLY JAIL TERM BE DETERRENT
by damodaran mohan on Sep 16, 2013 05:55 PM  | Hide replies

Actually during yr 2000 when first time the match fixing scam broke out BCCI virtually whitewashed the probe and all the Indian cricketers got off lightly. Azhar is a MP,Ajay Jadeja playing again and others with lesser roles virtually going scot free.Given this past history of kid-glove treatment of guilty players by BCCI no wonder the match/spot fixing scam has broken out all over again aftewr a decade.Given this background BCCI's disciplinary wing has done the right thing applying lifetime ban on Sreesanth &co. who have brought disrepute to the game of cxricket. But that is not enough. While Pakistani cricketers had to go to prison for similar crimes why should Indian cricketers get off lightly with just lifetime ban ? The related police case must be fast tracked and justice done to punish the guilty with jail terms.Nothing less could act as deterrent for others.

Shreesanth
by sridhar santhanam on Sep 16, 2013 09:12 AM

It is very obvious that Sreesanth has been singled out in the whole episode of match fixing.Shows very clearly that the BCCI has no respect for the law of the land despite the court giving a not guilty verdict. This decision by BCCI amounts to contempt of court.

Is BCCI a second court ?
by Pvn on Sep 16, 2013 02:53 AM

Never ! BCCI knew that all guys on this scandal will come out with clean chit and they knew that our judiciary is long running process. So , Srinivasan wants to keep his position safely , that's all. At least should give a faith our judiciary rather this BCCI gods.

BCCI HAS SUCH HORRIBLE PEOPLE THEY CAN DO ANYTHING . Sreesanth has shown no concern even when arrested and showed V sign .BCCI is criminal but Sreesanth does not appear to be a holy cow . As far as BCCI is concerned Gurunathan is out so the case is solved you can kill any numbers

What if he is really innocent and the courts eventually exonerate him?

That said, dude needs to improve his unnecessary antics. His attitude hasnt found him any friends. If anything, all the drama that accompanies him everywhere, just makes people want to see him banned so they dont have to put up with his antics anymore.

either way, its already too much of him.. cant imagine a noble game played by Viv.Richards, Kapil, Boon and loyal players, being man handled by foolish guys like this one. If he wants to remorse, let him do some social work..no cricket please..

IPL Spotfixing

Ms John is welcome to her views. Her argument of Srnivasan making Sreesanth a scapegoat will satisfy only Sreesanth and herself. What have the cases of conflict of interest and the other issues she comes up with to do in banning Sreesanth for life from Cricket? If she feels she has a case to fight let her do just that instead of shooting her mouth

For once, agree with Srinivasan's stance (if he has a hand in banning this clown for life). It should be a lesson to all cricketers who play IPL to fix matches cleverly.

@Pratap: Dravid insulted himself by playing this fixed tournament. Also, I dont think a captain should be insulted if his players ssccrrew up themselves. But it was not shocking that no captain even opened his mouth against fixing.... What else can u expect from a fixed tournament?

Hilos, I am a respectable man Saab. Nothing to do with India Cements or IPL :). I was just telling that dumb cricketers have to fix matches so cleverly that their father cement vasan also should not know ;)

PS: Cementvasan has been named in some land grabbing or something like that last week (by CBI).... :)
