I was in Mumbai in the last 2weeks, and major national dailies were carrying out survey amongst cricket fans asking them about their expectations from Sachin in his 200th test. Majority of the fans said we want Sachin to better Lara's record of 401 not out, even if that required Sachin to bat 4 days, so be it.Even a carpenter of Bengaluru,,who prepares bats for Sachin, says exactly the same.I do not understand the meaning of such surveys,I call it a farce. I think cricket will regain its sanity,once this chap retires.

Cheap people of India have made this player bigger than the Game. If someone has to get so much appreciation than he has to be far better than his competitors. But Sachin was not much better than his counterparts like Lara, Kallis, Ponting who made lesser centuries than him as they played lesser matches than him and also they played for the team most of the time.
he can enjoy it provided Pitch is made as dead as possible and refrain him facing any avg bowler. Nothing like honoring him by just placing part timers on bowl when he comes to bat.
