Why Alan Knott...
by sujay on Oct 26, 2013 05:56 AM  | Hide replies

Why not Dhoni, only because Alan is English.
In Test Dhoni has better avg. then Alan. Dhoni's 39.7 and Alan 32.7.
In ODI Alan is nowhere near.

WG Grace

I think WG Grace selection is more of respect. Rest all are too good. Especially Barnes over Lilly.. I think that was a master stoke ..

My World XI apart from
by Srivathsan V on Oct 24, 2013 11:05 AM

My other World XIs. They are filled with only attacking batsmen and of course great bowlers. I also wanted to add Gavaskar, Dravid, Kallis, and Steve Waugh somewhere, but I just can't because they are simply boring to watch despite being great players. I don't see a logic in the inclusion W G Grace by Wisden.

Here are my squads:

Mathew Hayden
Virendra Sehwag
Ricky Ponting
Brian Lara
VVS Laxman
Mahendra Singh Dhoni
Imran Khan
Abdul Qadir
Glen McGrath
Richard Hadlee
Curtly Ambrose

Gordon Greenidge
Barry Richards
Greg Chappell
Graeme Pollock
Ian Botham
Kapil Dev
Mark Boucher
Bishan Singh Bedi
Michael Holding
Allan Donald
Gennis Lillee

Solid batting, spin-heavy and only two pace bowlers? Is this a team meant for Indian pitches?
