Retention of Ishant Sharma
by rakesh gupta on Oct 22, 2013 01:31 PM

I am of the firm opinion that Ishant Sharma should not have been retained in the team the way he bowled in his last over awarding defeat to the Indian team despite having all chances of winning the game with the efforts of MSD.I think this could be blunder on the part of the selectors of the Indian Team.

There should be FULL STOP for Ishant Sharma

If our regular bowler is giving such run then why not we give chance to some younger players.I hink selection commity is respobsible for all those things because they are selecting the team. Equally Dhoni is also resposible for because he is having some young player in his team also. So he should give chance to younger player

Ishant Sharma's inclusion in next 4 ODI matches against Aus.

I fuully agree with Indian captain MSD that Based on only one or 2 bad performances It is difficult to make judgement by captain, selector,or by board but I guess It is necessary for any player to look back and analyse the reasons of his past bad performances and look positively how he can overcome these problems in next match I guess he must be confident enough about improvement in his performance or he should express his reluctance in playing all further matches till he develops full confidence in himself

I don't think ishan should be out off the team becoz there are more players who done this before in the matchs.
I don't understand that whenever sachin was out of from he was the only player who get chance to play for INDIA. so i think every one should play. He has done only one mistake but
Sab bhool gaye ki Ishant ne he Champions Trophy me Final Jeetaya tha So Dont blame him for one match

Ish- anth?

In India we are very passionately involved in Cricket, more than our family we care for cricket and crickters. With the advent of media the craze has multiplied.Even those who donot know cricket have become experts. I remember once when Kapil was out for duck in a crucial match, my neighbouring aunty was cursing him and said he should be sacked. That's Indian craze for cricket.
Every bowler has a bad series and remember Chatfield, the most economical bowler was thrashed head and tow by the slowest oneday player....Sunny. That is cricket for you. Dhoni did the right thing by boosting Ishy's confidence. It is uipto him now. Zaheer, the most experienced and Warne , the best I have seen too had their bashings from batsmen. Warne will never forget Tendulkar so also Quadir.

It appeared to be a case of "fixed". Not a question of performance.

Ishant a failed commodity
by naveen on Oct 22, 2013 11:18 AM

True, Indian fans decide anything and everything on the basis of one bad or good performance in the immediate past. But that last performance is a nail in the coffin for Ishant Sharma and he is a failed commodity. Reasons given below
1) For any fast bowler, England Australia are favourable places. Even the likes of Agarkar, Rp Singh have performed well in those conditions. However, Ishant played 8 test matches in England and Australia and miserably failed ( he failed in India too facing the same oppositions in the test matches that followed)not to mention his failure in the following ODI serieses in both the countries. It does not make sense, to have a fast bowler in the team who cannot perform in favourable conditions. If a fast bowler cannot perform in favourable conditions, will he ever perform in Indian pitches.
2) From the time Ishant has made his debut for India, his performances have been dropping rather than improving.
We can clearly say, he is a failed commodity, his averages terrible for a fast bowler like him. Indian team is no zimbabwean team to have players like him
