Present Cricket is not fare game anymore
by Vipul Panchal on Oct 22, 2013 12:45 AM  | Hide replies

Cricket is not fare game anymore, its only batsman's game now a days. And in county like India where a batsman is always dominating it is tough to get good bowlers. If you look at gali cricket, you will realize nobody wants to bowl, every one wants to bat.
The rules are also favoring batsman only, there is batting powerplay, why there is no bowling powerplay where a bowler is given freedom of bowling bouncers or let extra fielder fielding for him etc...
Develop more bowling pitches. I feel pretty for bowlers in present cricket.
In 70 and 80s, there were hardly scored 250 runs in one day, now it is otherway round - you think the batsman at that time were not good? No the bowlers were real good and rules were fare for both sides

This is Gully Cricket now. Field Restriction, Silcon Coated Bats, dead Pitches and Restriced Bowncers have taken out balance from the game. Which has created inumerable nos. of Top Class B'man. Irony is with this much ease in Batting condn they will claim these Gully class B'man as Greatest ever. If it has beeen 80s like cricket ..Dhoni like B'man career would have finished before taking start.

I agree with you that batting has become much easier.Look at the batting averages of these greats including Dhoni in test cricket & you will get the true status of these players. The loss of 8 tests in a row with just one test hundred was the real indicator of the greatness

Dhoni,Srini,BCCI prepare sporting wkt first
by alex on Oct 21, 2013 09:39 PM  | Hide replies

Dhoni,Srini,BCCI prepare sporting wkt, travel south Africa for long tour (dont cut tour only for formality) , dont afraid lossing to Africa. If you do these simple things, bowlers will prepared for next 10 years. Just playing flattest pitches ,playing IPL , hitting 4/6 at will on smaller ground just for money does not helps REAL cricket. Ishant is just escape goat here Mr.Dhoni. If India does not travel eng, aus,SA,even newzeland....how we will be deserving no 1 in Tests? Why so afraid of those countries ? Win and lose is part of game. BCCI ,Dhoni,Srini fooling ppl by playing only in India just for ranking.

Bowlers

Like the 1970s the bowlers should be given a free reighn without any restrictions.
Because of fearness of the WI fast bowlers the ICC put a lot of restrictions for bowlers & made the game in favour of batsmen.
If it is olden rules & Indian pitches either spinning & bouncy Dhoni & co will score only less than 100 in any format/innings.

one day bowlers will boycott the game
by raja garaga on Oct 21, 2013 06:53 PM

right from pitches, shorter boundaries, field restrictions like not more 4 players outside the circle etc nothing is in favour of bowlers. and if out of a blue moon if a pitch is provided for bowlers batmens get bowled out for 150 rund. high time bowlers call it a quit. batmens will bowl to batsmen more and more records will be broken.i pity the bowlers.

This trend would continue until people stop jumping and whistling on every 4 or 6 hit by a batsman.

Cricket is batsman's game ,but?
by pradeep agarwal on Oct 21, 2013 01:19 PM

people come to watch runs being scored by batsman. It is also a fact that more female fans have joined cricket after the advent of T20.They understand only big hits while cheering the batsman. The game will however, certainly suffer if administrators continue to make it one sided. There is a need to balance the rules & make the contest more even between bat & ball by allowing one more fielder outside the ring in 10 overs, standardize the weight of bat,& no field restrictions from 30th to 35th over in ODI
