Ishant retained, India name unchanged squad for remaining ODIs
by kalyan krishnan on Oct 23, 2013 09:29 PM

The selectors may have selected the same team but Dhoni has made it clear that India lost the last game only because of Ishant's poor bowling and promptly dropped him for the Ranchi match. Well done Dhoni - I appreciate your courage to take the right decision.

FOR THE CURRENT SERIES IT IS OK NOT MUCH OPTION
by damodaran mohan on Oct 21, 2013 06:25 PM

The selectors very cleverly retained the same side as they do not want to show any sign of panic. They understand that the current crop playing the one dayers have their limitations and are not in the same class as some of the retired pacers or seniors like Kapil,Srinath,Zaheer,Munaf,RP Singh......Unlike our batters who are better than their predecessors, these young bowlers have their limitations and Dhoni will have to be innovative and do some out of box thinking to get best out of them Ishant who is the most experienced unfortunately doesn’t seem to have learnt even the basics of good bowling in the last 7-8 yrs of 1st class cricket. In fact his performance is deteriorating with no control on line and length and w/o best coaching and hard work to improve he is a gone case. His bowling is one dimensional and can’t bowl much of variety or an accurate in- swinging Yorker, the toe-crushers etc.which are essential for the death overs with the new rules on field restrictions.Vinay again is only an average bowler.Only B/Kumar has some promise but suddenly he is not getting the initial breakthroughs which he has been getting since his debut about a yr ago.Given this background Dhoni has to go for variety with J/Unadkat and Shami Ahmd for the remaining series..In the long run however with WC slated in Aus –NZ India must include a pacer all-rounder in the 15/16 to have enough flexibility so that even with 2 pacers the balance could be achieved.

No sporsman spirit of Indian

his shows the difference between the attitude of Indians and Australians, Watson gave more runs than Ishant in this match and in the previous match(9 ECO) , and their captain never blamed their him. Cricket is a team game Dhoni just dont understand it well.

problem is not more with bowler but with pitches
by vinay on Oct 21, 2013 01:35 AM  | Hide replies

y every1 forgets that ind flat pitches r dead for any bowler to survive. if u prepare patta wkt, then u vl get such results only. scores of 360 or 300 vl b chased easily. if v chase 360, then its good. but if opposition chase 300 then its bad!!!
neway, there is no reason to support ishant. he is even otherwise useless bowler. better to gv place to more deserving n talented unadkat.

Australia bowlers are also given the runs in this dead pitch. Both the teams batted well. Australia is professional in one day they play for the country as india is corrupted one and play for the money
