SACHIN'S RETIREMENT WON'T CREATE ANY VOID
by damodaran mohan on Oct 17, 2013 05:33 PM  | Hide replies

Stunning. No other word will be apt for the incredible win. After the Aussies finished at 359 no one gave India any chance in the background of the previous Pune batting failure. In contrast it needed all of just three of the Indians to thrash and destroy the same set of bowlers ! Poor fellows the Aussies bowlers must have been wondering what struck them even while Raina and Yuvraj must have been left high and dry sitting padded up all through in the pavilion! But given the quality of the threesome the ‘awesome’ innings they played should not be a surprise. Since the 2nd coming of SD the Indian side ‘start’ has transformed completely. The way SD dances down the track is a treat to watch and reminds of past Indian legends of fiftees and sixtees. As far as RS , is nose ahead of Virat talent wise but only lack of adequate application separated him from Virat.. Since beginning for him the batting always looked the easiest thing the effortless manner he gets his runs when he gets them. MI captaincy seems to done him lot good for sure talking of responsibility and application..As far as Virat, he is already anointed as the next Sachin, he being the complete batsman as RS plus assured delivery mostly inspiring youngsters the way Sachin did for over two decades. Given this background and the fact that there are many more youngsters full of talent ready to break into big league Sachin’s retirement is not likely to create any void as feared by many.Sac

And some people of this forum thought in the beginning of India’s
innings that Team India will lose . They will not be able to chase 360 .
Those people have poor knowledge of the game .
I said from over number one that we will win easily .
SOME ONE GO & TELL AUS PLAYERS THAT TEAM INDIA CAN CHASE EVEN 400 .
THAT’S WHY WE ARE WORLD NUMBER ONE .
Rohit Sharma is very good batsman .

shilpa ji, no doubt we are world cup winners but this type of win puts doubts in mind as sometimes our batsmen can reach even double figures and sometimes they make earth shattering records! Would say that India is one of the most unprecedented teams and evrytime one expects them to win they lose and vice-versa.

the most beautiful part was all the three mentioned that team victory was more important than century or no century.

Indian 9 wickets victory against Australia.
by subhash phadkar on Oct 17, 2013 08:57 AM  | Hide replies

Just b4 the beginning of the Indian innings in reply to Aus. massive score of 359/5,Harsha Bogle ,Sunil Gavaskar and the australian were talking about India's chances of winning this match. The Australian as per his country's pride had written of India chasing successfully so many runs to win the match.Only Sunil Gavaskar said if Indian openers start well and score 100 or more runs for the first wicket India has a good chance of winning. And his words were the last to blush the Australians.

I missed that part, but I guess it was Hayden. He was also doing some gandiharkate like blurting "Kohli is eyeing for the record of fastest century". ICC should keep some course to become a commentator. Any veteran cricketer cannot become a commentator....

Pathetic Bowling !?
by Prabhakar KRISHNA on Oct 17, 2013 07:47 AM  | Hide replies

Out batsman get us out of every hole which our bowlers dig for our team. When we win we tend to forget the pathetic performance of our bowlers. We need to put them on mat and go for overhaul. Australian bowlers are new and their batsman are nowhere as good compared to our batsmen so the both sides can not be compared !

True, but not much could be expected of yesterday's conditions. It was a totally flat track and a very fast outfield. It was literally a track suited for raping the bowlers.
