BCCI, Srinivasan and Probe Panel
by kumar kn on Oct 13, 2013 12:01 PM

The first thing that the new Probe Panel must do is to question the earlier Probe Panel and how being Judges themselves they lowered their image by giving such a finding. BCCI needs to improve and Srinivasan has a lot to answer for it by the way he is bulldozing everything that comes his way. He may be legally right but is he morally right?

He should also be held accountable by the probe panel. But the way Rajdeep Sardesai and Arnab Goswami questioned him on TV and have for all practical purpose already found him guilty is not right. Who are these fellows to declare someone guilty or not? Just because they have the power of the media these guys misuse it daily. Modi was the target of these fellows for eleven years. Let us have some fair play especially in cricket matters.

It is welcome change from the 1997 [BCCI-appointed Committee] headed by retired SC Chief Justice YV Chandrachud for inquiry to probe the allegations of rampant fixing who refused to meet even the policeman who had taped the evidence : “It is not in my brief.” Or, 2003 probe by Justice DV Subba Rao into the allegation that Abhijit Kale had offered bribes to two selectors; Rao did not meet a single person who could have shed light on the question. Why? “The terms of reference have been restricted, so the inquiry will be limited to only those three persons.” The present team’s satisfaction “with terms of reference”’ gives us a glimmer to hope that this time, at least, truth shall be known.
