Only 10 countries out of 170 countries know him
by sivanantham on Oct 12, 2013 01:23 PM  | Hide replies

Only 10 countries out of 170 countries know him.
It is very sad that our people and media are still crazy about IPL and cricket, even after our cricketers and team officials are caught for their different types of fixing matches.
Our cricketers play IPL with all sorts of injury but they don't want to play for India.
Only within INDIA, our cricketers can play some level(mostly captain). But outside of India, it is very horrible performance most of the time. They go just tour using Govt. money.
In addition, they fight for captaincy after playing few years and do so much politics among themselves.
just 10 countries are playing.
So we should focus on individual games (such as badminton, tennis, athletics, swimming, etc.,) rather than team events so that we can get many medals in Olympics and other international games.

Hail Tendulkar!
by archana dass on Oct 12, 2013 12:33 PM  | Hide replies

Yes Tendulkar has retired! It is a fact we have to accept and many congratulations to his Critics. They got what they wanted and for their sake at least, we welcome Sachin's decision.
But with Tendulkar that silver lining from cricket has retired, that radiance which used spread blossoms of expectations, excitement and ecstasy has retired.
‘Sachin Sachin’, that lyrical Anthem which made many a hearts skip a beat will remain silent now.
And yes, Pride will indeed lose its sheen with the departure of its perfect Epitome.
Even, time wishes to be at a standstill, finding it difficult to move on without the magic of the last 24 years.
The Ecstasy the Radiance and Magic has retired but not the memories, that Sharjah sandstorm, the helplessness of Pakistan and Australia, that one look in the skies, that nightmare of the great Shane Warne, The compliment from Don Bradman, that first ODI 200* and so many more. Each minute of Tendulkar’s presence on the field has been an unforgettable moment.
But now, it’s over, Cricket will never be the same ever again. Hail Tendulkar! Thank you dear Master for giving us a reason to Smile and be proud all these Years. Indeed, Sachin Tendulkar can retire from World Cricket but you cannot retire from our hearts. As for cricket, it will never be the same again! The Passion, the Thrill will be there no more because the greats like Tendulkar descend on this earth ‘once in a blue moon’. Hail Tendulkar!

Allan Border wasn't the record run getter in Test Cricket in 1991. It was being held by Sunil Gavaskar at that time. Border toppled Gavaskar only in 1993.

Sachin is good but not greatest
by ashutosh h on Oct 11, 2013 07:54 PM  | Hide replies

Rohit Sharma is the greatest Cricketer Mumbai and India has ever produced.I hope Sachin learnt a lot of things by playing Under Rohit for Mumbai Indians..

Rohit Sharma has inpired many people to take up the game of cricket seriously and has brought glory to Mumbai via ipl and champs league...

Sachin is also a good player- we wish him all the best

I'm sorry I did not read your comments completely before and reacted. But you seem to be a big Tendulkar fan. nd its looks like a crack on Rohit Sharma. I agree Tendulkar is great but Rohit Sharma is not that bad. I like the guy. But it was a really great joke on Rohit Sharma

@ashutosh, one simple edge sachin has - whole 24 years of prime fitness. runs/records apart its not a minor feat.and with all respect i dont think that Sharma can be on top for even 15 years. Rgds

No doubt he is a great sportsman but how has he reached greater heights than Sachin? How has he changed the Chess in India? How has he helped Indians get more interest in Chess? How has he changed the game overall? How many records and accomplishments does he have? Answer this first

another name of dedication is sachin .he lived the game .those who have played the game know what it takes to to make a single hundred not to talk of tendulkar's 100 hundred . he entertained allof us if australians can boast of Bredman's why we indians should not be proud of man who ruled over every other cricketer. hats off to tendaliya.
