Sachin exposed
by naveen on Oct 12, 2013 06:45 PM

1.      With sachin in 90s India was only 5th best team in the world. There were no significant victories for india except in India where Anil Kumble’s heroics won the matches for India
2.      Until 90s commercial aspect of cricket was very low and just when sachin made his debut commercials increased and sachin benefited out of this immensely as he was made popular by the media and corporates for their benefit.
3.      Thanks to the Indian team of early and mid 80s, cricket became poplular in India and Sachin became the beneficiary of this .
4.      The other greats of India such as Dravid, Sehwag , youvraj and laxman who produced quality knocks to the Indian side arrived late in the scene by which time popularity was already stolen by this tendu who throughout 90s got knocks that ended in losing cause but did not deter his popularity.
5.      Steve Waugh famously quoted, Indians are happy if sachin gets a hundred and the team looses
6.      Sachin struggled against quality bowlers such as Mcgrath, Ambrose. Lucky, he never faced West Indian great fast bowlers
7.      Most of the knocks of his have come for his records at the cost of the team.
8.      Most of india’s victories were caused by players such as Sehwag, Laxman, Yuvraj , Bhajji and kumble

Sachin Exposed

9.      Whenever Sachin was the best player in the match, the Indian team would lose.
10.      Over period of 24 years of cricket, his one and only good knock was that 98 against Pakistan.
11.      His run rate never reflected the team’s requirement and his knocks were agonizingly slower
12.      Miserably failed as a captain
13.      Sachin selfishly always took the best place in the team no. 4 in tests and opener’s place in the team despite the presence of better players in the team.
14.      His huge no. of runs are like dry leaves which do not have any weight.
15.      Begged his colleagues to win the world cup for him as he could not win one. Imagine a great player begging others to win a world cup for him.
16.      Got special treatment from BCCI and selectors throughout his career.
17.      Had wrong priorities in cricket. First his knocks even at the cost of the team and then team
18.      Miserably struggled against Mendis’ spin
19.      Sachin did not deserve a place in the team on merit atleast after 2007. However corporates who have huge investments on Sachin, made sure Sachin remained in the team for their investment recoverly. There are many more reasons but I stop here.
So the false popularity and falsehood of Sachin is exposed

End of a Master Inning...
by Suryakant Ghadi on Oct 11, 2013 01:34 PM  | Hide replies

I dont know why people are making so much hype of this news. he is a great great cricketer no doubt. He has given so many great moments to us. He is like a cricketing God. All Agree. But thr has to be a sunset after a sunrise & we all have to accept this bitter fact. There is nothing like no cricket or cnt imagine Indian team without Sachin. Yess we will miss him badly but Other young players are thr on bench who can also play a good cricket. So we have to respect the Master's Decision & hv to say Show Must Go On...!!!

Fully agree with you Suryakant. He was very good, his time is over now. Remembering the good moments is one thing. But going overboard to claim that there is no cricket without him is as fanatic as it can get.. :)

END OF A GREATEST ERA FOR CRICKET
by Thurairajah on Oct 11, 2013 07:33 AM  | Hide replies

One of the greatest shows that our world witnessed is coming to an end. It’s a feeling of sadness and powerless to not to have this happened. It will be great if we simply could go back to the 90s. The glorious and sensational era of Tendulkar who captivated millions of fans from all around the globe with his masterful and magnificent artistic stroke play will soon become memory and history. But the history of his astonishing and mesmerizing centuries would last for centuries for sure. Wishing him wholeheartedly the very best in his future endeavors.

In the 90s, IMO there were very few people who could secure a win for India single handed (with some support of others of course, but these guys would be dominating to the core). I feel they were Sachin, Kumble, Srinath and Azhar. When these guys failed and Ajay Jadeja/Robin Singh won matches for India, we used to feel that India was a superpower in cricket in the 90s itself.....!
