Wow! What a relief
by Adi Mehta on Oct 10, 2013 06:50 PM  | Hide replies

Finally we will be spared the torture of watching Tendulkar bowled between his legs. Thankfully, he has been forced to retire. Otherwise he would have wanted to continue till after 50 saying 'I cannot imagine a life beyond cricket'. The tour to South Africa has anyways been cancelled because of him and genuine cricket fans have been robbed of a thrilling India-South Africa contest, just so that Tendulkar can play his last two tests on docile Indian wickets and the West Indies has agreed to let him score a century in his last test. In South Africa he would have got clean bowled between his legs.

Yes Sir...but those centuries were 3 years ago. Players like Waugh, Ponting, Lara etc. could have all said 'we scored centuries 3 years ago, or two years ago...but they retired when their best was behind them. Sachin is the only high profile player who insisted on playing till the whole nation has got fed up of him and all his great innings have been diluted because of this. He should have retired when India won the World Cup in 2011. He would have been respected far more today, if he had done that.

…its very very difficult to digest that SACHIN is retiring from International Cricket. Long 24 years serving the nation with utmost sincerity and dedication. Still going strong, even though batting is not clicking, his fitness level, chasing a ball while fielding, overall body language…..the spirit is simply SUPERB, and not to forget…24 years of clean and beautiful image, no controversy, no scandal or scam, no cheating, no ego, no anger!!! A REAL GEM, REAL GENTLEMAN in the field and out the field! I SALUTE you SACHIN…. My idol always, as a cricketer and as a human being, he is a great philanthropist also, which only few people knows it, but he never made it public or marketed about it….. Great Soul….love you sachin!!!!

Sachin, there are so many aspects to life. I hope and pray that you will realize a few more of them.
I have discovered that the greatest pleasure-more than taking-is in giving. When you discover that, you will miss nothing else.

As per highly confidential agreement between Sr. Tendulkar and BCCI, Sr. Tendulkar has agreed to retire, if and only if and only only if, Jr. Tendulkar is selected in the Indian Team. This will mark the debut of Jr. Tendulkar in the much awaited high profile match against WI at Mumbai.
In a first of its kind in the living memory of mankind, both father and son will be playing for the National Team.

Fortunately I got interest to watch cricket from the day when Sachin started his career some time 1989 against Pakistan and hitting all around the field with broken nose. Unfortunately I will stop watching after his retirement. Thanks for entertaining the entire world for last 24 years. A great salute to you.
